When did Madison or Westfield or South County get busted? Have not heard a word about their football programs in any trouble at all for recruiting. PWC & London schools are in charge of themselves and not an FCPS problem.

Agree. The Overton supporters assume everyone else is cheating to justify what went on at Hayfield. It simply isn’t true.

Nobody said they got busted. I think what was being said is that those schools aren’t being investigated and there is no pressure to address the issues at those schools. They all are supposed to follow VHSL rules.

If Overton were white, is there a possibility he wouldn’t have had to deal with all the scrutiny directed at his football programs?

I remember people saying his teams wouldn’t be so good if he had to play other high caliber or ranked teams.

Is there jealousy because of his success?

He’s left the VHSL, built an up and coming team at a private school which some people think is the best team in the area and people are still hating on the man and his new program.

Can we just leave forget Overton and leave the man alone?

Westfield Parent here. There is not one transfer earning any playing time at Westfield this year. All players were at Westfield last season that play on Friday night.

Overton got scrutiny not because of his skin color, but rather because he broke the rules not with 1,2,or 3 players but dozens of players in a single year.
There have been many black coaches in FCPS. They did not get treated any differently than others because they were not obvious cheaters. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE.
I would be happy to leave Overton alone if you stopped dragging our program and others into baseless allegations to help shield Overton.

The coaches you are talking about didn’t dominate the way Overton did. They weren’t a threat as long as they were losing and if Overton were still at still at Hayfield, he wouldn’t need any transfers either.

You guys get all up in arms when the white supremacy gets exposed. It is what it is.

Overton is gone now, so if it wasn’t racism, let’s keep that same energy towards the other schools who recruit and bring in kids that don’t live within the schools boundaries just to play sports.

There was no record of Overton cheating and he and the families of the kids from his team last year will also tell you there was no cheating at Hayfield.

The VHSL said otherwise and soon the FCPS report will confirm what everyone knew was going on.

I’m a sports fan. Not an Overton supporter. I don’t know the guy, but the things being said about the man are just disgusting.

If Overton were as bad as people are saying, I’m sure he’d have been disciplined. There is no way he comes out unscathed.

Maybe they are coming from the judge that reinstated Hayfield.
