I’m just trying to figure out if she was let go just because of who she was or because she tried to stand up to something?

She’s responsible for the incredible Diversity and Inclusion program at Fannie that won many awards. Why do you think she was fired?

In a merger situation, so obviously! The streamlining effort that is going on in government will hit Fannie+Freddie. I think many departments that do similar/same work is at risk. It's unique roles and who is more liked that works in favor of an employee during reorgs like this.

There are no plans to merge Freddie and Fannie. This is fake news.
However, privatization is on the table.

Trump intends to use Fannie/Freddie as collateral for his SWF. (Been covered extensively if you read something other than NBC or CNN.) You explain to me how that will work if it's private. This Administration isn't about to turn away money-making machines by making them "private" when there are other ways to use them for the benefits of their idiotic ideas.

Still can centralize functions

They’re two separate companies who are competitors. Why would they do that?

Why do we need competing companies (with many 7 figure earners each) to support the mortgage market? Cant we have one that is more streamlined? Both of these companies are extremely inefficient but without them the mortgage market fails. Its a waste of $$$.

Tell Congress? they were both chartered by Congress.

The unchartering can be done if we have schmucks like Schumer at the helm. Don't think a consolidation isn't on the table. The nativity of some are baffling.

I agree with this. Also important to note that Bessent stated the same thing (use as collateral for SWF) in a few of the conferences he's spoken at and media interviews he has given.

You brought up rifs. I assumed that you thought that cutting entire departments was = rifs.

I think RTO is to see who actually still lives in the DMC. Freddie is May 1st. They have not been in the office since Feb 2020. A lot of folks may have moved away and might come back short term but unless a high paid job they wont move back or rent a pied a tier. Also people over 60 already in Florida just loggin on each day may not come back.

What about CSS? Did Tony over there find a way to just avoid any layoffs or RTO?
