The MLS Next brand is going to keep growing every year. More and more clubs will ditch ECNL and jump on the MLS Next train. NVA will be the first big club to make the switch. They'll become a powerhouse overnight. Sure, some ECNL girl parents might freak out at first, but in a couple of years, they'll see how smart NVA was for making this move to MLSN + GA.

It all comes down to which is the priority.....boys or girls?

Boys: MLSN > ECNL (or anything else)
Girls: ECNL > GA (or anything else)

Which program do you prioritize? If you can't do Boys MLSN/Girls ECNL (which is the ideal pairing) and you have to choose MLSN/GA or ECNL/ECNL, the answer for a club lies in their priority (or whichever has the higher $$$s).

You clearly dont get it.

NVA is playing the long game. They're looking two years down the road. If they think MLSN + GA will be the bigger deal than ECNL + ECNL, they'll make the switch. They're not thinking about what's best right now, they're thinking about what's going to be the winning move in the future.

No, you clearly don't. If you think for a minute they are doing this with the long-term interest of the kids/soccer versus the money, you really don't understand the landscape here. And if you think that the two-year horizon is long-term, then I have a bridge to sell you.
this is the truth. $top the bleeding of $$ by dangling a new carrot for the boys. Girls and attached families will suck it up and stay ad the other ecnl clubs are packed w starters.

But it's not a new carrot MLS Next has stated that they intend to expand by a lot. This is an opportunity for clubs to get involved with a league that will guarantee then several levels of boys teams which translates to $$$.

No. MLSNext is not expanding by a lot. They are creating what is essentially ECNL RL. Which, frankly, will be better than ECNL National.

Yawn- SYC has been doing this for ages (Next 2). That team doesn’t beat ECNL teams- sorry.

include SYC 2010 mls next, that team offense sucks.

Yeah. Quick check on the Soccer app shows SYC 2010 #4 in VA, 2011 team ranked #2 in VA, 2012 & 2013 teams ranked #1 in VA.

ECNL is a joke, but the response above, in light of SYC rankings for at least 4 age groups, shows the PP’s are too.

Best of showcase NVA 5 - Suckyc 0

NVA is Mediocre club in mediocre league.

got schedule link to best of?

You just have to look at the ECNL rankings. The only good team they have is 2012. The rest are mediocre.
I mean this year that might be true but that wasn't the case last year, or the year before that... NVA doesn’t have consistent mediocre teams like Arlington or VA Union does.

that was because Coach RA soul crushing bootcamp and self motivation had the older teams looking legit. 10s were always buns and 11s were mid w over meddling parents of sub par players.

I for one cant wait for the announcement. Will be drinking tears from a cup.

There will be an exodus from NVA if they move to GA. ECNL is the only reason girls play there.

The same logic applies to every club. ECNL is the reason girls play at Arlington, VDA, & FVU. If they didn't have ECNL, many girls would play somewhere else.

The question is would MLS Next for boys bring in enough new players to offset any girls that might leave because of switching from ECNL to GA.

I believe it would. I also believe if more than one relatively local club switched from ECNL to GA for girls nobody would leave.

This spring will be exciting.

You're exaggerating. None of the top players from any of the top teams "Flocked" to SYC. Ok so they added girls who couldn't/didn't make any of the top ECNL teams.

NVA is looking down the road and where the best platforms will be for their players for exposure and recruiting. If they think MLSN + GA will be the bigger deal than ECNL + ECNL, they'll make the switch right away to position themselves first before any of their competition does. They're not thinking about what's best right now they're thinking about what's going to be the winning move in the future and their brand. NVA leadership is well connected and I’m sure will do plenty of research if they do decide to make the move.

False. Big showing at the 2012 SYC GA ID which preceded the ECNL IDs. There were 4-5 slots to fill so only a few offers went out. Some of those who were passed over made VDA and FVU. Facts.

They “didn’t make” ECNL teams but somehow are better than 90% of the ECNL teams in the area lol.

ECNL isn’t everything. No one wants to play for shit teams. ECNL or not.

Yes they do, as a matter fact. Otherwise a club like VAR wouldn’t even exist lol
