You sound like the same private school mom that tried to have the same discussion on TS earlier this week. It ended the same way as this thread with people telling you that HS doesn't matter. |
And that's fine. But don't get confused that Club Soccer and High School soccer are very different things. |
Let’s be honest though about “club” soccer. There are only a few that are worth mentioning the rest are just collecting money. There is definitely something more pure about High School sports than having a team hire a local mechanic to coach a club team and charge you $3000 for the experience. |
Some of the best Starbucks baristas played D3 college soccer. |
The best club players don't pay to play. |
|
Private school snob parent waded into the deepend with soccer and met their first club soccer snob parent.
Entertaining to watch. |
We’ve had D1 coaches at our schools playoff games but probably mostly to enjoy the game because it’s relatively local for them. I’m sure/know the varsity girls are already heavily recruited through club. |
We had a couple of D1 scouts drive by my kids HS on the way to work does that count? |

No one good plays private high school soccer. Except these three current pros.

Sure. |
And nobody cares if your kid sits on a college bench for a few years before they all re-group in the local beer league. |
So McDonogh gave scholorships to a couple of promising MLSN players. They in turn played on the HS soccer team returning the favor. They're playing at high level soccer because of MLSN not HS soccer. McDonogh globbed onto some rising star in HS and now is trying to claim they developed them. |
Read the whole thing, another was at Calvert hall. Plenty of soccer talent in private schools. |
So you're saying that private high schools developed these players to the point where they were able to play professionally? The answer is no. They offered free tuition to MLSN players in exchange for playing on the HS soccer team. |
The topic of thread is quality of soccer played in high school. No one except you is talking about who developed players because it is irrelevant. Just admit that there is some high quality soccer being played at some private schools and we can call it a day. Or you can continue to ramble about completely irrelevant things. |
