You will see it, with a magnifying glass, once you get paid for the first pay period of 2025, which ends January 25, so late January.

A pay raise that “almost keeps up” is a tiny pay cut, no? I would have made very different decisions had I understood that my Federal career would be twenty years, so far, years of annual pay raises that “almost” or “don’t by a long shot” keep up with inflation.

Have other careers kept up this poorly or is it just us?

It’s just us.

And it will be reversed when Musk takes office. He’s firing everyone
. Then he will rehire small groups very small at lower pay .

Republicans who work for the feds are in for a very large pay drop and or no job and no benefits.
You see you voted for no regulations they are going to remove all your privileges

If you think you have a contract or the constitution or that’s how it’s always been …. Welll nope

My private sector DH got 4% this year. So I don’t think many employers are fully keeping up with inflation. However, 2% with everything going on is pitiful.

Highest health insurance premium increase in recent history (average of 13.5%), on top of 8% inflation, and an incoming administration that talks nonstop about how much they hate us and want us to lose our jobs. Oh and possible increased commuting expenses.

I think Trump/DOGE are going to meet their goal of getting a lot of Feds to leave. Sorry to the American public that they best performers are going to leave and not be replaced.

My spouse is in higher ed and got nothing. No cost of living adjustment at all. The last one a couple years ago was like 1%.

Yall about to get hit with a pay freeze for four consecutive years. Be happy that Biden increased federal salaries by 14.5% during his administration.

This didn’t happen during the first Trump administration. Elon et al. don’t play nice and will get on everybody’s nerves and will be let go and it will be business as usual, again.

Do ladder promotions still happen during pay freezes?
