Congratulations! Your DC must be very talented to have those choices. |
So excited to participate!
Enrolling at Virginia Tech Accepted at LSU, Towson, JMU, U of Colorado-Boulder, Drexel, UMD, and Baylor Rejected from Clemson, UF, Auburn and Texas A&M |
Congrats! I have a child at BC. Absolutely loves it! |
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet |
I'm actually surprised you got into VA Tech but got rejected from Clemson and Auburn. All good schools. |
Ok. I would ![]() |
We think that that he signed up for Corps of Cadets really helped. He also applied TO where available. Auburn requires test scores and makes it explicit that they look at GPA, scores, and nothing else. Clemson (which he loved) was a toss-up, I wasn’t too surprised he didn’t get in. |
I’m not. VA tech acceptance rate is around 57% whereas both auburn and Clemson only admit 43-44% of applicants. |
Curious why DC chose UF - that is an amazing list of schools to pick from! |
Many large schools offer so many clubs and organizations (I think over 700 at UF) that students can easily find ways to make a large school feel smaller (if they want). However, the opposite is often not true (i.e. making a small school feel large). |
Wow - I did not realize how competitive Clemson has become! |
Clemson is much lower than that, around 36 percent. |
In exchange for a non residential campus where it’s difficult to get classes and at Florida in particular, many are prerecorded online. But your kid will have nice weather. |
Case Western for my kid. Intended math major.
Accepted to UMD, Pitt, UMBC, and Emory Rejected Brown, UChicago, WashU 1500, 4.0/4.9, many APs and IBs, all 5/7s. Right now he’s a 3/10 on enthusiasm. Definitely not where he wanted to go. He’s a positive kid by nature, so hoping to generate some excitement over the next few months. |
If he doesn’t want to attend Case, it looks like he has other excellent options. |
