The adult father has the duty to end the estrangement within the family. Especially since he views himself as the “leader” of the entire family. The children in their family, even the adult children, have never made the rules and decisions for the Brown family. |
That is really sad. I hope it brings them back together but yeah I could see, even if Kody had nothing to do with why Garrison chose to do this, the kids blaming him. Not to be morbid but unless there is a note specifically outlining the reasons and it specifically absolves Kody I think the siblings will always wonder and blame him. |
I am the one you’re quoting and I agree. I didn’t say he didn’t have the duty to end the estrangement. He does. Just saying I hope this is what spurs him. |

His roommates provided some insight. They said he had problems with alcohol and substance abuse. They also mentioned he was upset about an ex girlfriend. His problems were probably worse than anyone in his family knew about. It really isn’t fair to try and blame Kody and Robin. Kody could have been more involved but there is no reason to think that he would have been more aware of the seriousness of Garrison’s depression since he was able to hid some of his problems from his mom and siblings. |
NONE of the minor children sign consents. So many of the kids who have been filmed have been negatively affected by TLC intrusively filming. Parents shouldn't be allowed to exploit their children. Having TLC install production lighting in a family house while children are filmed by strangers shouldn't be allowed. Family disagreements shouldn't be filmed or parents arguing or people in the family commenting on what happened after a disagreement shouldn't be filmed. |
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Janelle, 54, reportedly told officers that Garrison, 25, texted a group of people that the Brown family works with — presumably on their TLC reality show — ominously, writing: “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.” Kody was completely estranged from Garrison. They had no relationship and haven’t spoken for at least 2 years. How could Kody have been less involved? Sister Wives’ Star Kody Brown Says His Adult Kids Are ‘Jerks’ Amid Estrangement Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown had some harsh words for his estranged adult kids in the latest episode of the TLC show, revealing that he doesn’t want to be around them or speak to them at all. “All of you are just kind of jerks,” Kody, 54, said of his older children during a heated discussion about the family’s dynamic in the Sunday, October 15, episode. https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/sister-wives-kody-brown-calls-his-adult-kids-jerks/ Meanwhile, Gwendlyn, 21, another child of Christine and Kody, opened up about her strained relationship with her father in a December 2022 YouTube video. “As people I think that we’re all typically ignorant to our mistakes and when we’ve hurt our loved ones, especially our loved ones. We’re pretty unlikely to admit when we’ve done wrong,” she said, admitting that Kody had not been “actively reaching out” to his children Amid the tension of the October 15 episode of Sister Wives, however, Gwen’s feelings of neglect from her father were clear as she said, “Imagine your dad loving you.” So Kody didn’t speak to his children and made them feel as if he didn’t love them. One of the storylines of seasons 16 of Sister Wives centered around Kody’s feud with Gabe and Garrison over his strict COVID-19 rules, leading to a non-existent relationship between the Las Vegas resident and his sons. “[We’re] not good. Not talking,” Kody said of them during the season 16 tell-all that aired in February 2022. “It’s like one of those relationships where we’ve gotta do a lot of work.” But Kody did zero work. Imagine your dad loving you. |
Are you blaming Kody????? |

NP. I don't blame Kody for Garrison's death.
Would Garrison still be alive today if Kody was an excellent and loving father? Probably. That doesn't mean Garrison didn't have mental health and other issues that have nothing to do with Kody, or that those issues wouldn't have caught up to him. But he'd probably still be here right now, in my opinion (and no I don't actually know these people). On a slight tangent.... Robyn was always soooo upset that the family was falling apart and "I wanted to sit on a porch with my sister wives...watching our grandkids play wah wah wah". (While criticizing them for things like gaining weight and allowing Kody to come to her house extra "to help with the kids" which he never did for his older kids.... but ok) All that "bothers" her is that there are now 15 kids who can't say "My mother and father are married" because she entered the picture. Much like an OW. Not a great look. Christine talked about the family having reunions and stuff but I hope they don't with K&R now... just move on from those wackos. RIP Garrison, he was a great person. Depression sucks. |
I don't see that as blaming Kody, but he certainly plays a part. I'm sure there were a number of factors that contributed to Garrison's decision. |
Ignore them I’m pretty sure that’s the troll who’s mad someone disagreed with them |
“Imagine your dad loving you.” |
DP. 100% yes. |
What no. Absurd, Garrison was 25 not a child an adult. |
Wow you are a horrible human. No one deserves to lose a child. Better put Janelle in that category too, she brought him up in that lifestyle, she had her kids on welfare, and shared a husband with other women. She is just plain disgusting. Not a fan of Kody's either he is just yucky. Janelle is not stupid and she put her kids in this shitty lifestyle and then threw them out in the world. For a TV show. |
