UGA vs. UVA

I don’t have time to google. Sorry. Just look it up. Or don’t. Doesn’t change the facts.

If you don’t have time to Google how do you know? You just admitted you’re posting without doing any research, which is why folks ask for sources.

However, you can get a terrific education at both. Also, Georgia is heavily heavily in state...so touch more regional, if you ask me. But, a great place. Let's just not let facts get in the way of a good story.

Quite true. UGA OOS from Virginia is much easier than UVA in state. UGA (and Clemson) are used as backups for the students that do not get into UVA and in many cases also do not get in to WM or VT. Scoir data from three high schools shows the difference. The CDS from the schools themselves show the students overlap but are from statistically significant different tiers of academic ranges

So we now just through out statistically significant willy nilly on this forum.

What is the UGA OOS acceptance rate?

UVA is a relatively small school cosplaying at being an ivy. I wish we had a school like UGA here. High school would be much less stressful if a kid who did well in high school knew they could get into the flagship and didn't have to stress about how many kids UVA will take from their school

Are you new here? We have plenty of schools like UGA. Ever hear of VA Tech? Or James Madison? You are just bitter that your kid can’t get into UVA. (My kid can’t either but I’m not a hater).

We don't have any schools like UGA. We have two ACC schools who aren't worth rooting for on Saturday and a Sun Belt school bleeding students with athletic fees because it's income can't support it's ambition

Troll. You just keep arguing. No one is deciding a school based on football. And if you are, well you are a moron.

That poster has repeated this elsewhere. It's pretty entertaining how clueless he is.

You are too funny. Thanks for playing (or rather, not playing).

Surprisingly, UGA isn’t even a sure shot for high stats kids that are GA residents. I know many very bright kids that have been Waitlisted or outright rejected.

It used to be a very easy admit for anyone with a pulse 20 years ago when it was known as a party school, but for some strange reason it’s become quite competitive for even GA residents to get in.

Unfortunately GA just doesn’t have alot of good public options.

Doesn’t compare. I’m sorry. Thats the reality.

UGA seems stronger than you think. UGA OOS admitted 25% last year. Overall UGA stats were 1370-1500, 4.13-4.38.

Get out of your bubble. The correlation between football success and the number of applications a school receives is well documented

This thread took a turn. Goes from ragging on UVA "boosters" to UGA boosters boostering like a Falcon 9. UGA might be the next Northeastern.

50% selectivity for in-State applicants is very high.

+1. And a UGA booster reactivated this old thread.

You seem insufferable. You do realize that there might be people with no affiliation to UVA that harbor an opinion that UVA might be a better school, right? Why is your bias that it’s simply another UVA booster? It’s almost like you’re a UGA booster acting just like what you’re maligning “UVA boosters” for.

DP. What is the basis of your argument that UVa might be a better school?

DP. Well, for starters UVA is ranked no 5 by USNWR for best public universities whereas UGA is no. 20.
