+10. Good midwestern folks. The other kids will be a nice change from the DMV kids.

I wish I had gone to college in the Midwest.

My BFF from grad school (we went to U of M) went to MSU undergrad. So she has experience with both. She said the kids at MSU are much friendlier and there are a lot less strivers there. Which makes me happy. She also had no problems with the coursework at U of M at the grad level and felt well prepared.
My daughter will fit in there perfectly.

Congratulations! What a decision you all have to make. Differences in locations are like night and day.

Yup. I think my DD will be very happy at MSU. This is her top choice as of now.

Congrats! My DD (junior) wants to go there. Any merit?

My nephew is in college in the Midwest and he loves it. He does not want to return to the DMV. It has been the right part of the country for him.

I’m surprised not so many north eastern schools besides BC. I went to UMass and there are a ton of schools in New England.

We’re waiting on an answer from a small LAC in MA, but we won’t know until March because it involves an arts program. It is my daughter’s first choice. It is well known for its support for neurodiverse students

Dean. Well known for theatre and dance. But also just down street from the Patriots stadium, so very interesting opportunities for sports management and exercise science students. The Arch program is best known for ND support, but they have many layers of student support. Honestly, their “library” is a huge student support center.

UMass isn’t on the radar for this board.
