Nice straw man you constructed there. |
Yes, guns take lives and according to the National Safety Council - https://injuryfacts.nsc.org/home-and-community/safety-topics/guns/ there were 48,830 deaths in 2021. Of those only 1% (549) were due to accidental/preventable causes with an equal 1% (537) due to legal intervention. In 2021, there were 42,939 deaths as a result of automobile accidents, so about an equal danger as gun deaths. Living life involves making risk based decisions so perhaps staying away from automobiles may be a good move as well. |
+1 The good news is that the dramatic and combative will be staying far away from guns making us all safer. |
News for morons. |
And last time I checked, guns don’t contribute to climate change like cars do! |
Spite gun purchases. Do you always buy deadly weapons when you get emotional? Reminds me of when gun owners go on a shopping spree right after a mass shooting. How many guns were sold after Sandy Hook or Vegas? |
Congrats on inadvertently making a good point? We should actually talk about reducing unnecessary driving. Ambulances and truck deliveries are pretty important, but we don't really need to drive a half mile to pick up a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread. We really have taken on a lot of unnecessary carnage because driving is comfortable and convenient. Kind of gross. |
Ha! Typical leftist. Regulate regulate regulate. |
Yet you own a car. Hypocrite. |
No, these are not “endless”. These are targeted actions that address real issues today. You prefer to make up wild scenarios (magic magnet?) over these actions that would reduce gun deaths. You can’t support any of these proposed actions/laws? Did you even read them? Gun owners should be responsible and rational. That’s why I don’t trust you. |
During the Marion Barry years in DC I was/had: held up at gunpoint in Columbia heights. Moved. Two radios stolen out of my car in Woodley and windows smashed twice. Moved. Held up at knifepoint to gain entry to apartment building Connecticut avenue Cleveland park. Moved further north to Chevy Chase DC. Neighbor had all belongings stolen and evidently loaded into trucks and taken away from alley in back of house. I stayed on in chase and bought my home. Marion Barry gone. No problems with theft or attacks in my neighborhood until Muriel Bowser in recent years. Now, carjacking at gunpoint broad daylight of neighbor in broad daylight. Shooting down the street at Connecticut and brandywine. Carjacking at gunpoint on my running route over on 43rd near friendship (changed my route now) in broad daylight. Attempted carjacking in last 10 days on Connecticut avenue near the circle at 7:00 am (bumped the car, neighbor got out to exchange insurance, was attacked by 3 men). Multiple incidents of neighbors’ service people having car windows smashed in attempt to find something to steal. Some service people, plumbers etc, refusing to come to Chevy chase now because of so much crime……. Several random attacks by obviously mentally ill people on bystanders or walkers on Connecticut avenue…..
Recall Muriel Bowser.

It is fascinating, this legend in their own mind thinking. They fancy themselves being good guys with a gun. (Spoiler: They are not). |
So your whole "pro-life" thing was just a schtick? I mean, I knew that but it's nice of you to confirm it. |
OMG you're an environmentalist but you breath out carbon dioxide. Hypocrite. You realize how dumb you sound? Like kindergarten level stupid. Do better. |
Or diabetes, heart disease etc from sedentary lifestyles. |
