In swing states though? It doesn’t matter if Biden runs up the vote counts in states already likely to go this way. I’m just not sure abortion is enough of an issue in the states that matter (I’m from one of them, FWIW)- especially since Haley, as of now, is not pushing for a national ban.* It would be status quo since Roe v. Wade kicked it back to the states. * I dont necessarily trust her on this, but she’ll come out looking more sane relative to the other republicans, and I think swing voters would be more likely to overlook her abortion stance if they don’t think it will affect them. |
Eh, Christie left NJ with less than 20% approval rating (https://www.npr.org/2018/01/15/577650714/a-republican-star-fallen-chris-christie-leaves-office) as well as an administration tarred by the petty and vindictive. and the Fort Lee bridge scandal (https://www.cnn.com/2014/01/09/politics/chris-christie-bridge-primer/index.html). I guess he's an improvement over the blatantly corrupt and venal Trump, but um, I think the country can do better. Much better. |
Honestly? Yeah, probably. I'm a Democrat but I don't think I would absolutely despise life under a Christie presidency. I wouldn't LOVE it but I wouldn't wake up every day feeling like I was in a dystopian nightmare, like I did with Trump - and I do with DeSantis as governor. |
Oh, I'm pp and that's disappointing to hear. |
Christie is not pro-choice. At all. He’s not moderate either, unless moderate just means doesn’t suck Trump’s knob. |
This is what Christie is doing but A) that doesn’t make him pro pro-choice and B) the Dobbs decision did not leave it up to the states, it left it up to “the people and their representatives” which absolutely includes national Roe codification or a national ban depending on who is in charge. |
+1 From someone who spends a lot of time in Jersey and hated him while he was in office, this describes my feelings completely. And it totally doesn’t matter because the Republicans will never select him in a primary. |
Therein lies the problem. Congressional Republican leadership is on the record as advocating a nationwide ban. The question is bound to come up, and just about any D presidential candidate will frame it as the veto being the only thing standing in the way of such a ban. And even if a R presidential candidate also says that they will veto it, most people of voting age will not believe them, and they will lose support from their base. |
I still think that anyone who runs as GOP nominee other than Trump will have a shot v Biden. As they would have to win first the party's nomination which means whomever it is will not be completely insane (if it's not Trump). I just don't think Trump would be rejected as their candidate if they had anyone who could win - there's enough big money that don't want Trump in there. So really, if anyone runs v Biden, they have a really good shot. Biden is not a good candidate, he's just someone other than Trump. |
Where does Ramaswamy get his hair done? |
Trump made it clear that illegal immigrants would not be welcomed - unlike Joe, who encouraged them to come. |
Christie I am convinced is there only to attack Trump and get Desantis elected. At least that was the original plan before Ron's popularity dropped.
Haley would be great. I would love anyone besides the Trump and Biden rematch we will get |
White men refused to support a white woman for POTUS, you know that are not supporting a brown, Indian woman. Just forget that they were both and still are more qualified than all the men they've competing against, past and present. |
Lol. That is more than enough. |
Good we need them. The country is being held back by lack of workers. |
