Who would that be?[/quote] The way out for a Republican candidate is to simply reiterate that abortion is a state issue, not a federal issue. Which is what Dobbs did. I don't think abortion is going to be an albatross for Republicans if they frame it as a state's choice. California is free to do as it wishes. And so is Missouri. Don't think too many votes will be won or lost with that position. But any candidate advocating for some kind of nationwide ban or severe restrictions is dead in the water. [/quote] This is what Christie is doing but A) that doesn’t make him pro pro-choice and B) the Dobbs decision did not leave it up to the states, it left it up to “the people and their representatives” which absolutely includes national Roe codification or a national ban depending on who is in charge.[/quote]
