Do you assume homes with American Flags are republicans?

NP. My current tenants told me they were going to put up a flag on the flagpole in my yard that I have never used, because "it's more likely there are guns used for self-defense in a house with a flag, so people won't break in."

People underestimate how appearances factor into targeting. Having a flag, 2A slogans, etc create a certain appearance.

We don’t do flags in general, we don’t have a holder, but growing up seemingly everyone had an American flag outside, at least for the major holidays like 4th of July. Maybe it’s a generational thing, my parents still have theirs, they’re democrats.

When I lived in a sketchy neighborhood I seriously considered putting an nra bumper sticker on my car so it would be visible in my driveway.

Not necessarily, but I do assume it about our neighbor that has “an appeal to heaven” flag in front of their house

Not if the flag is displayed around certain holidays like July 4th or Memorial Day, but if it is put up at random times or displayed year-round, then I do assume the residents are Republican. I have lived in other countries and the display of national flags year-round is not common at all.

Great, you don’t live in those countries anymore. Irrelevant data point.

It’s relevant because only the US has flag crazies.

I fly a flag outside my very liberal home. The flag belongs to the United States and everyone in it. I’m not letting those fake patriot authoritarian fascists in the GQP claim the very symbol of my country. This is my home too, and I want better for it than the hollow, brainless flag waving of the right.

My street has numerous town houses in a row with flags out front. Every one of them belongs to a moderate to liberal owner.
