Robinson dumping AP classes and focusing on IB

Does the militant anti IB poster(s) have children at an IB high school? If not, this obsession is really weird.

There's at least one poster regularly posts anti-IB content and jumps on every opportunity to complain. It's pretty weird. Also, funny that people want surveys--then they complain about the expense, the design of the survey, the response rate and then ---if it doesn't go their way. I don't think surveys are the way to go-- offering the two primary advanced academic programs in different high schools and allowing pupil placement is pretty flexible and a reasonable middle ground. If anything, families that prefer IB should be complaining because there are far fewer schools that offer IB.

I have had kids at an IB school and an AP school, found IB rather prescriptive and divisive, and see no reason not to survey families in the county periodically about their preferences. That doesn't make me "militant" or "obsessed."

Can't speak for others, including those who've staked out the position there should be a cap on the number of IB schools in FCPS. But why are you resorting to personal insults? It's immature on your part.

So you no longer have them there? Why are you so concerned then? It just seems like a lot of energy and anger for something that has zero impact on your life.

Different poster, but it is because the AP/IB divide has contributed to the demise of several of the FCPS high schools. It is not solely responsible, but it is a significant problem.
