Beware “Ozempic Face”

Anonymous
I’ve lost 40lbs from Ozempic.

LOL at that idea that it’s all muscle. I feel fantastic and strong. I’m on a low dose and eating a healthy, nutritious diet. I’ve been losing weight slowly and steadily.

My face looks great. Skinnier, probably wrinklier, happier.

1. What causes the increased wrinkles?
2. Is there any way to reduce the increased wrinkles?

I saw this article on Today.com and it made me think of this thread. It's great that so many people getting healthier and happier on these drugs. This person lost 30 pounds.

I think she looks better “before”. She looks sick in the second photo.

Yes, that is what OP was telling everyone to be aware of. The before Ozempic face is better. Some people are okay with the after Ozempic face because they are thinner and happier.

Whoa! She looks 20 years older.

She's 78 years old!

I don’t think that’s the same person.

Dr. Mindy Pelz says Ozempic makes you lose muscle, NOT FAT. Beware!

It’s not Ozempic that does this, it’s starvation. To avoid it, you have to eat, especially protein, and exercise. This true regardless of what medicine you are -or aren’t- taking. Ozempic is too effective for some people and they eat too little.

I’m small 105 lbs and don’t care what people are doing to try and bypass the simple solution of cutting out 2/3rds of your food portions. I would just be worried about long term side effects.

They’re soooo mad. So so mad.

They are mad that people are fat?

They're mad that fat people have access to a relatively easy and painless way to be thin.

Remember, there's always a price to be paid when you take a shortcut.

Oooh I'll remember that when I wake up tomorrow and weigh in; if it's anything like the previous 32 weeks, i'll be down another 2 pounds!

OMG you are going to make all of those skinny people jealous! They just can't stop thinking about it 24/7!

Yes, we’re all soooooo jealous of someone who had more than 32 pounds to lose.

100 actually! And I’m glad to hear you’re happy for me having access to an easy way to lose weight without having to diet and exercise.

Will insurance pay for the excess skin you’re left with?

Ozempic doesn’t bypass your simple solution. It leads to your simple solution.

Why are you so convinced she/he has excess skin? I lost 70 lbs and don't have any.

And healthier. Being fat is unhealthy. I am absolutely sure my face will look thin after I have lost the weight I want to lose. And I will look older. But the weight has worse impacts like knee and back pain and difficulty exercising. It’s worth it.

The chunkier version of this lady looks both younger and healthier.

Yeah, if this is what it does, I'll stay fat, thanks.

You do what you want. I lost 60 so far and look much better than I did before. Some would say I looked bloated and sick before.

I’m diabetic and have lost 50 pounds with ozempic. I took this to lower my a1c, not for vanity. It doesn’t feel nice reading about how we all look like wrinkled lumps from this medication. Some of us are actually taking it for diabetes, you know!

I actually do have tons of loose skin! It sucks but I’d rather have the loose skin than 100 extra pounds. And the loose skin isn’t because of Ozempic, it’s because I was obese for nearly my entire life and probably poor skin genetics.
