My wife likes lifetime fitness, but it's costly... We have two gym memberships

OP if this is one of your wife’s top priorities and you can afford it, then let it go. There are some places not to nickel and dime and if something really makes you happy and keeps you healthy, why settle for less if you don’t have to?!

Op here. I get it. The kids also love Lifetime. Our youngest son always asks to go to the gym even when they take the day off. She does get highlights at Lifetime, and she tried pilates reformer for a few months but didn't feel like it pushed her hard enough. She had plantar fasciitis for a few years and that impacts what she can and can't do. She's going to stick with the classes included in the membership. Coloring her hair has always been something she does, and she used her salary to cover that. They eat at the cafe occasionally. Those are the best days for the kids because they talk about it at home.

It's great that she gets so much use out of it. I loved Lifetime when my kids were little- made everyone really happy. Your wife loves it- no reason to try to save $ on something that is so important to her unless your family is struggling financially.

Do you work from home all the time? She's probably trying to gain independence. Being around your spouse every day all the week isn't healthy. It's like having your manager live in your house.

I don't run. The treadmill is easier on my joints. Also, I like taking my kids to childcare on Saturdays. It breaks the day up.

You don’t see kids all week and stick them in childcare on Saturday??

It's not like it's the entire day pp. Most people stick them in front of the tv. The gym is much better for kids if there isn't a tv. Both gyms they use don't use tvs.
