Charters: When is yours dropping the outdoor mask mandate?

No. LAMB hasn’t announced a date or scheduled the parent chat to talk about it. Pretty frustrating.

Give them a day or two to make the decision. Jeez. Have you never worked in a bureaucracy?

?

When did DCPS lift outdoor masking? A couple weeks ago? And when will LAMB do it? Mar 21? Why does it take three weeks to implement a lifting of the OUTDOOR mask mandate?

And DCPS -- a much larger LEA -- was able to announce and lift the indoor mask mandate in a couple of days, starting today.

If the first time they considered this was when the announcement was made, that's a failure of leadership. Obviously this was happening everywhere and it was going to happen here. Schools should be trying to not be the last in the country to ignore public health guidelines.

I have wonderful news for many people on this thread. You can, literally at any moment, move your child to your local DCPS. For free! Without penalty! I promise! Give it a shot, if you are so distraught over covid precautions at your charter. We won't miss you.

Kids in prek3 or prek4 are literally not allowed to move to their local DCPS., I promise!

Why are you even on the thread? Go back to your JKLM DCPS and be happy.

There are charters that would have lost students if they'd been upfront at the beginning of the school year about how divorced their policies were going to be from everything. But they weren't. They probably weren't aware of it themselves, because they were being purely reactive. Obviously parents are not pulling their kids out in March.

.

Then STFU and leave at the end of the school year.

Or stop endlessly complaining about your free preschool if your kids are in ps or pk.

Don't you people ever get tired of complaining? I feel so sorry for charter leaders. What a pain to deal with entitled parents.

NP (and a DCPS parent). Yes, it's truly a mark of entitlement to just want your school to follow the CDC and local public health guidance. The nerve! Get over yourself.

How about you stop endlessly complaining about parents endlessly complaining? Don’t you ever get tired of complaining about people complaining?

Ha! So true. My guess is the PP wants the mask mandate to stay and is worried the complaining that is happening outside of DCUM will be successful, just as it was with DCPS.
