Charters: When is yours dropping the outdoor mask mandate?

Anonymous
I realize it's only been a day since DCPS announced the end of outdoor mandatory masking, but I'm wondering when we can expect the charters to follow suit. Anyone heard from their charters yet?

I have asked (Lee) and was told they were in discussions and would communicate something out shortly. No hard timing shared

We have not heard anything from either of the charters our children attend, but I just emailed the schools to ask when they will change them. They should have changed the moment DCPS changed their policy.

CMI announced they are still masking outdoors which is tone deaf messaging.

Haven’t heard a peep from LAMB.

Please know that if you are emailing your child's school this week to badger about this...everyone thinks you are an ass.

On the flip side, you were probably one of the parents emailing asking about outdoor lunches and wanting them to happen

Nope. Haven't emailed about anything. Because I am not annoying enough to think my opinions should dictate policy.

Asking "what's your plan?" is not badgering or trying to dictate policy. If my charter wants to play a small role in the well-deserved decline of faith in institutions, that's their business, I'd just like them to tell me.

Nothing but there are bigger fish to fry in my very personal likely not shared by other parents opinion.

Like, if there is a positive in a prek3 class, the whole class is still home for at least 7 days. If a kid tests positive, they are home at least 10 days. If a kids sibling tests positive, both are home at least 10 days.

And then there is the daily form where you state your kid doesn't have covid symptoms. At this point, we should agree that is just a waste of time?

At the same time, last year was so bad I'm just happy they get to go most days.

I'd love to see the daily health app check ins and the travel quarantine policy for unvaccinated (all PK students) lifted, in addition to lifting the outdoor masking. Come on charters, stop with the progressive virtue signalling and actually "follow the science" that you claim to follow. By not doing so, they are driving COVID misinformation, i.e., implying that we cannot trust the CDC or DC Department of Health.

Oh many you need to push for test-to-stay.

My charter seems to be doubling down on masking and I'll be surprised if they change anything this year. Hoping the lottery goes in our favor for next year.
