NOVA AAU TEAMS (Nova94, Fairfax Stars, NovaCavaliers

My only experience with Fairfax Stars is their summer league, which is run so poorly it would make me run far away from any of their teams. Seriously, that league is such a disorganized trainwreck.

Agree. 15 kids is insane, even if they are playing for other teams. Only 5 play at once, and who wants to pay for AAU and drive all over BFE to watch their kid NOT play basketball?

That was us when DS was on a NoVA94 team but he played about 5 minutes per game even with large lead either team.

Yeah

Which one is the better team? The "Blue" team?

No, they listed two teams for 11U but only did one. It’s final. So are the two 10U teams. They were finalized last week.

Totally agree with this.

The orange team is better.

So they planned for two teams but only had enough kids
Show for tryouts to make one team. Interesting. Did anyone go to tryouts? How many kids were there?

There were enough kids at tryouts for 2 teams. They didn’t have another coach for a second team. They never said they were having two teams at the tryouts- it just shows that way on their website.

Enough kids total at tryouts to make two teams (20) or enough really good players at tryouts to make two teams? How competitive were the tryouts?

They didn't have a coach for a second team. Keep in mind there wasn't a 4th grade program last year so no carryovers so this group is all new. Yes, there were more than 20 kids at the tryouts.

I wonder how that compares numbers wise to the Npva Cavs tryouts with the crappy coach? Did anyone go to those?

My kid is on a Fairfax Stars team.

The Stars leagues are run extremely poorly and are super unorganized, for sure.

However, the teams are led by individual coaches so it's not at all the same. Our team has a super organized coach and the trains run very smoothly and on time!

What team does he/she play on? We are looking to connect with a fairfax stars coach on the girls side.

Most of these local AAU leagues are not very organized. Some organizations may be a little more organized, but you still participate in tournaments and leagues that aren’t.

I had a child play on a younger Stars team and it was a great experience!
