Return to work- fed edition

Yes - HHS Town Hall said 75% of its staff will be teleworking 3 days a week. I didn't hear them say "at least 75%" though.

Delay it forever. Most of HHS can be done remote

My pre-Covid schedule at FDA was 3 days/week telework and I am a supervisor.

I couldn’t watch the whole thing because it kept freezing. Did they say anything about when the next phase would go back? Or what metrics would be used?

Our sub-agency had an all hands recently and it sounded like telework would be up to supervisors which is exactly how it was before the pandemic.

No, they didn't offer any details.

We are pushed back to mid-March. I hope that by then, my son can be boostered (he is too young to be eligible under the current standards). Once that is the case, I will feel very comfortable returning to work (unless there is some unexpected change to COVID).

FBI back full time Jan 7, although 80% have been back all along.

Interesting. Maybe they will get that brand-new billion-dollar headquarters in Maryland after all.

IRS Counsel prior posters — did you see new telework stuff? Four days is good huh?

Mid-size agency here. No notice on back to office but did get notice on new telework policy if/when we ever go back:

-Four days required in office per pay period. Up to six days telework. (Pre-pandemic was the opposite - 6/4).

-Option to work 10 hour days, so an additional AWS day (up to two) per pay period.

-standard work hours 10-2pm. Work hours can be anywhere from 5am -10 pm (subject to approval).

-some other nuances.

Pretty happy with this.

Omicron is all over the news now. Everything is beginning to get canceled or push back again. Do you guys still think agencies will move forward as planned?

Yes. Because we are all getting omicron no matter what they do unless we lockdown EVERYTHING.

We are probably at the same agency, ha! But I’m pretty happy with the new policy too.

Commerce just sent out their 30-day notice of return. We’re being told Omicron won’t change anything because everyone is vaccinated.
