That would be you. If you want discuss uva recruiting that is great but start a thread about it. This one is about low level schools. |
Tiny school. Allure - less people. Better teacher to student ratio. Not a small fish in a big sea Rural area. Allure - scenic. Quiet. Peaceful. Less crime. Fresh air. Outdoor activities. D1. Allure - better competition. Possible TV games. Better stigma. As far as challenging … college is what you make of it, regardless of the school. Go to a better rated school for Grad school if you’re that into academics. |
| If you are not that into academics why spend all the effort and energy to go to college at all? Do something with your time and energy that you are "that into". |
What is "better stigma"? |
This is a good post, and I didn’t focus at first on how odd the “rural” part of OP’s question was. Many highly ranked colleges are in rural areas, and some kids love the insularity of them as well as the other factors PP mentions. Not sure how many “tiny” D1s with soccer programs there are in rural areas, but lots of kids like to stay close to home for college too. |
Nobody’s really into academics. School sucks. They’re chasing prestigious academics schools for the same reason they’re chase prestigious athletics schools. For the prestige |
| 90 percent of these post are from parents whose kids are not getting substantial or any D1 offers. |
pres·tige /preˈstēZH,preˈstēj/ noun money for nothin, chicks for free |
There we have it. There is a place for everyone. While the faker prestige chasers are wasting their lives educating themselves or playing competitive soccer, the smart ones are out there pursuing a lower level, non competitive version of both and all the advantages that brings. |
That's how it started. Now it has moved on. Happens to conversations. Otherwise they die. Murdered by people like you. Murderer. |
How do you know? |
Or,........perhaps people just do what they feel works for themselves. |
Absolutely. And some have respect that what works for this player is not what works for another while others do not. |
Wait, so we've been wasting our money and time on soccer and studying, and we should have been enjoying high school and readying ourselves for NoVA CC and Phoenix University? Do tell. |
Apparently anyone that wants to go to MIT or the naval academy or another competitive institution of higher learning is full of crap and actually thinks those places suck. |
