Guy canceled date

OP, I believe I know who this guy is. Does he frequently speak in a Cookie Monster voice (at least when he's trying to make a serious point)? Does he claim to know how to juggle knives but refuses to prove it? Missing a toe? Sound familiar?

I stopped reading at page 4, so this may have already been said. To the OP, Given that you guys have only been on two dates, and the date was only a movie, I don't think it was unreasonable for him to cancel your date for an emergency. He may have a somewhat flexible schedule with his ex which could benefit him too in the case of emergency. Maybe he has emergencies sometimes and likes to be able to count on his ex. He may have reasoned that rescheduling a movie is not an enormous inconvenience. If you guys had scheduled a vacation and spent hundreds or thousands of dollars together that would be different. What happens if you guys are in a serious relationship, you have an emergency and you need him but he has his kids at that time? Maybe it would be nice to know

it's ok that you're a little peeved. Sounds like you want any romantic partners to prioritize you. Unfortunately, that is not always possible if they have kids.

+1 I think OP has unreasonable expectations. I am surprised she has a child and does not get this but it may be a situation where she does have flexible coparenting with her ex so she can't understand.
