DS did SCEA Princeton and got deferred and then deferred to the waitlist. Three Ivies also rejected him. unhooked white valedictorian. Best of luck but do line up safeties. Your kid's stats are amazing. |

+1. The 50th percentile of students entering W&M last fall had a 1440. |

Tulane, Wake Forest, Furman, U Richmond, W&M (OOS), Pitt
Boy 1420 SAT 3.0 at top private school (not in DC area) Wide range of ECs No real hooks, although a few rec letters from key people (board members, top donors) at a couple of these schools Please give it to me straight: Does he need more safeties? What schools would you add to this list? |
If the 3.0 puts him in the top third of his class, I would say Furman looks fairly safe. Personally I would add one more. |
That gpa will probably lead to quite a few rejection letters (unless his high school’s admissions data indicates otherwise) — he absolutely needs a few safety schools. |
PP here. I know; I'm concerned. What schools would anyone suggest that fit the profile of the above listed, but are more realistic? |
| Rhodes on the small side and NC State as a ballast to Pitt? |
If at top private you should be getting good advice |
Franklin and Marshall, Denison, Syracuse |
What about test optional? |

I’m leaning in a “yes” direction with the triple threat of male, private school, so obviously full-pay, and supporting letters from “key people.”
U of R, yes W&M, I’m going to have to say yes, they love OOS males from privates Furman, yes Tulane, no WF, no Franklin & Marshall is a good suggestion, I would add Denver, GWU, and Gettysburg |
