2024 Washington DC area College commits

They only tell you where they are going- not all the schools they got into.

My kid who is in at an Ivy, UVA, WM and a very selective SLAC…non-hooked and has 4 more Ivies to hear from.

Might end up going in-state. The other acceptances won’t be reported on SM page. See how that works? You aren’t getting all the acceptances. Kids make choices to follow athletics or merit aid too for a lower ranked school.

You are getting part of a story.

A bunch of schools released regular decision yesterday. Surprised not to see more UVAs, etc added to the top privates

Noone is going to jump on a UVA regular decision if they have an Ivy app still out there....just for perspective. Things will be slow until April.

My kid is in at UVA, very selective SLAC and a few top 20s—waiting on Ivies and Georgetown 2 weeks to go.

Most kids I know will be weighing their options all next month. They have until May. My kid has done fantastic, no rejections yet and still has many to hear from by April 1st. Nothing below T25, most T10.

Going to many admitted student events next month to help the decision process.

What school is your child at? Otherwise it is not helpful information.

Congrats to your kid. I thought all ivies were releasing on the sale day, end March. At Which Ivy is your kid in?

Harvard, Yale and Princeton have restrictive early action.

This might be the rare unicorn kid but certainly not the norm. RD is going to be a very unhappy experience for the vast majority of kids this year who overapplied due to the uncertainty of the admission cycle. Should be interesting times in 2-3 weeks.

Waiting on 4 Ivies, Swarthmore, Hopkins (alum).

Being a Hopkins alum won’t help your kid at all.

Yup. Hopkins' policy is no legacy preferences
