This is a bad outcome to me. She’s done nothing to harm the hospital and they’ve done nothing to harm her (the leave was paid and their statement was neutral). If the outcome here is: a dedicated healthcare worker leaves hospital because after being harassed outside work, an internet mob tried to destroy her name and reputation, that’s just sad. I bet you anything a lot of people at that hospital support her, are familiar with this kind of street harassment near the building, and would welcome her back with open arms. |
Oh, I’m not angry, or defensive. I’m just saying you’re a racist, which is accurate. You’re also bad at logic. |
But instead of the men's terrible behavior, let's focus on the behavior of the victim and how she didn't react appropriately enough. Let's talk about "fake tears" and calling for help because she wanted something to happen to them. Did you call out the men's bad behavior at any point? If not, why should anyone care about any feeble point you're trying to make? |
It shouldn’t. Because there was no one in this conflict who was racist on one side facing misogyny. The maltreatment came entirely from the men and none of your lying changes it. |
It’s Bellevue and I know where it is and believe your take is correct. |
The majority of this conversation is about the woman's behavior and whether it was right or wrong. Not much mention of the fact that maybe all this could have been avoided if the men had acted appropriately in the first place. Don't start none, won't be none. But some people actually believe that in the face of such awful behavior, the victim needs to tone down her reaction, hide her emotions, protect the fragile men, lest something bad happen. Something bad has already happened. |
Yes. I posted above that the men are scum and I said this was about white women, not just about white people. What I’m saying now is, let’s not get in the gutter with the anti-white, misogynistic racists. We can do better. |
Oh, now it's a bad idea. It was ok until the truth came out though I guess. That's how this thread started, if you recall. |
Disagree. Forced leave, even if paid, can be an adverse action. |
Those public social media personalities who threw this lady under a bus need to post public apologies.
People need to start being accountable for ruing people's lives by posting random videos. |

The outcome will be “New York City loses a dedicated health care professional who worked to serve the least privileged New Yorkers through covid.” |
I'm sure a heavily pregnant woman is thrilled at the idea of losing her health insurance at this point because some people wanted to have some fun at her expense. Hopefully she can keep it because it's not an ideal time to look for a new job. |
This is the crux of the issue to me. The amount of malice people read into this woman's behavior was alarming to me. Just tons of assumptions about her "real" motives and straight up disbelieving her requests for help or her apparent distress. It really bothers me because what are you supposed to do if you need help? People kept saying that she should have just walked away, but those guys were all around her. And ultimately she does walk away, but first she gets upset. Are you not allowed to get upset, ever? Not allowed to ask for help? Not allowed to cry if you feel like crying? It's just insane to me. |
