What time is the party? If it's around a meal hour, I would say it isn't much. Even if it isn't for a meal, could you maybe make mini finger sandwiches? Or a quiche?

where's the food?
Anonymous
I generally expect more food than that at a party. Maybe some cheese and veggies?
Anonymous
That's fine although you need to indicate on the invite that there will be light snacks and cake only. Make sure this isn't during lunch or dinner either b/c people expect a meal at those times.

They will say that they left hungry.

I would skip the lemonade. Do a cooler with juice boxes, water and soda.

Offer crackers or potato chips and dip as an alternative for those who might not like tortilla chips and salsa.

I would say they have better food in prison...

No no...its lunch time! Get some veggie platter and sandwich platters or you will have alot of hungry unhappy people!

easy things to add: veggies and dip, pita chips and hummus, good cheese and crackers

quiche is also a good idea - relatively easy to make ahead of time and works well with the timing of your party - two would be good but you could probably get away with one (this is my current fave: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Mushroom-and-Fontina-Quiche-355191)

11:30 a.m. is definitely lunchtime. Change the party to 2 p.m. and add a few more apps and you'll be fine.

How about a pasta salad and sandwich platter?

PLEASE NO MORE JUICE BOXES!!! Believe it or not, some of us parents hate for our kids to drink that crap.

I love the lemonade idea. It's as if someone actually had a fresh thought.

if you decide to have sandwiches or more lunch fare, then pasta salad would also be easy to add to the menu. Those boxed ones at the grocery store (boil noodles, add the sauce made from a powder pack and oil) are actually really good and wouldnt spoil very fast sitting out.
