What will my guests say about the menu in our party?

That's exactly what I said to DH the party is at 11 30am and he thinks this is enough!!!???!!

No, not for an 11:30 party. If you want to serve cake and snacks that's fine, but not at lunchtime... people will be hungry. Either serve more food or do it at a different time!

thanks guys DH is convinced that his idea was a set up for failure ha!

If you want, make the party 10:00 am; skip the guac and salsa, and add bagels and cream cheese. Keep the fruit, add OJ instead of lemonade.

if we keep this menu and add the hummus and pita chips is the 2pm time slot better?

I would still add more food, such as a veggie tray with dip, and cheese and crackers, as others suggested.

Also remember, the kids might not like salsa, guacamole, or the hummus!

2pm is a much better time for a limited menu.

We're all vegetarians and the kids I know very well. They're fine with spicy food and this kind of appetizers.

I like the idea of cheese and crackers and veggie tray. I think we'll have plenty of options then.

I'd think that you were Episcopalians with that paltry menu, but then I realized that you weren't serving a liquid lunch for the adults.

But, really, that is not enough food!

You need cheese, crackers, veggie tray with hummus and another dip, guac and tortilla chips, and fresh fruit--for a 2 PM party.

Much better to have too much food than too little.

Also, have bottles of water and milk boxes, rather than lemonade. If you want something special for the adults try Pellegrino.

Offer crackers or potato chips and dip as an alternative for those who might not like tortilla chips and salsa.

PLEASE NO MORE JUICE BOXES!!! Believe it or not, some of us parents hate for our kids to drink that crap.

I love the lemonade idea. It's as if someone actually had a fresh thought.

??

What's the difference between juice boxes (that contain 100% juice) and LEMONADE? Same sugar, same "crap," just presumably not in a box.

I would add a little tray of sandwhiches, made from slider buns. You could look up tea sandwhiches to get some ideas. And a tray of sliced fruit (apples, pineapple, grapes, whatever is in season?).

Add some hot dogs or hamburgers or bbq and you are good to go. If vegetarian, then add some quesadillas or veggie dogs and burgers.

A big salad; homemade veggie chili -- you could even order some veggie pizzas.

An 11:30 party is absolutely a lunchtime party! Tell your DH he's got to provide more food: little sandwiches, pizza, quiche, pasta salad, quesadillas, whatever.

11:30 AM is lunchtime. This is NOT enough food. Seriously! You need to provide some substance for ALL the guests - parents as well as kids. Sandwiches, Chips, maybe some veggies w/dip etc. Or simply order pizza.
