Plane crash DCA?

Can't have it both ways.

Of course, he knows the economy would suffer if people stopped flying or reduced flying. And he doesn't want that....

This is another example of him not being able to put 1 and 1 together. This is absolutely like when my FIL was in early-mid dementia. He just could make logical inferences or analyze why two different things didn’t make sense together.

Do you have a link to the interview?

On Reddit, the helicopter was noted as being above or at an address in McLean just outside Langley HQ.

Saud royalty, from what I’ve heard locally

On this thread several pages back, in fact.

I think he can’t hold back at all due to dementia. My personal opinion.

Clear as day his mental acuity is decreasing.

Yes. Only heard one.

Usually two black hawks do a pass every evening along with all the hospital, army, and news traffic.

I hear them plenty in NE. It's unnerving on a normal day and even worse today.

Interesting. The maps show only 2 choppers over the entire city and one is at crash site.

What app do you use? I was using Flight Radar24 or something like that and they stopped sharing chopper info.

The fact that he immediately appointed a new head speaks to how he didn’t want that to be the focus.

Yep.

The narrative seemed to be that DEI has caused the ATC shortage because they were turning away qualified white men. Not that any of the pilots or ATC were a DEI hire.

Biden hired hundreds of new ATCs during his presidency. There are more needed but it requires funding, which the GOP cuts and limits at every turn.

Regan flexed his stupid muscle and broke the ATC’s union. So here we have a stressful job requiring cool heads in the face of catastrophe, precision, focus and lightning quick problem solving.

Who wants that with moderate pay and to be viewed as dispensable?

In this context, NSA doesn't refer to the National Security Agency, but rather the National Security Advisor.

Why Waltz instead of Hegseth? We can only speculate, but he does have a history of heavy drinking.

Perhaps they haven't been able to get in touch with next of kin yet? They need to do that, before releasing names.

A lot of posters here don't understand that the 67 people who died have families that deserve compassion and that takes precedence over their hateful politicizing of this horrific tragedy. If only there was some national leader who was in charge of offering wisdom and empathy during crises like this.

You seem to not understand that it’s human nature to want to know who was piloting the helicopter that collided with my friend’s aircraft.

It’s a basic fact that will get out, so I can wait.

The more we wait, the more they seem to be hiding things.

Human nature also wants to know the why and what happened here.

None of what you said means you get to know before the families do or that they should find out their loved one died on the news.

The families know

The family of the FO on the jet found out on reddit, shortly after the crash. With the speed of the internet, most families found out long before anyone officially notified them.

If you have a family member flying into that airport, from that destination, you know.

+1. There is only one nonstop flight per day on that route on any airline. So if you flew Wichita to DC yesterday without a connection, you were on that plane.

I would not think parents of pilots or FAs necessarily know what flight they are on. I often don’t know what flight my spouse is on because I don’t track where he goes for work and he often ends up changing flights anyway if he finishes work early of late. At least some of the people on flight had connected in Wichita or were connecting in DCA.

Driscoll, speaking at a Senate Armed Services hearing to consider his nomination, said the Army would need to look at “where is an appropriate time to take training risk, and it may not be near an airport like Reagan.”

I don’t know anything about him but that was a great response. Thoughtful, measured, open minded, data driven

He is certainly Captain Obvious. Almost as good as Hegseth saying planes are not supposed to crash.

Does this make any sense??? Why would Saudi royalty be going to Langley from fort b?

Another expert pilot stating the pilots likely did not see each other. Or that the Helo pilots originally had the plane in it's sights but later lost it. This guy is my favorite Aviation youtuber.

They weren't. It's a stupid rabbit hole conspiracy theory. The Helo originated from Langley, but didn't turn on their transponder until they were a bit away from Langley, and they just happened to be flying over/near the Saudi embassy when they turned the transponder on. This caused the tinfoil hat folks to think that the Helo landed and took off in the back yard of the embassy, which is not even big enough to accommodate that.

I know the Daily Mail has a lot of issues but this seems like a pretty fair and informative pov from a Blackhawk pilot.

Yes the daily mail. They had to pay all that money to the voting machine company?
