I agree. From the start, the photo editing was weird to me because it focused on weird parts of the photo. Like there really wasn't a ton of obvious photoshopping of her face (some blurring and issues near her neck and neckline, but not her face). All the really obvious photoshopping was around Charlotte and Louis. Well they didn't recently have abdominal surgery and are very cute kids, so I didn't get it.

The whole thing about it being an old photo and them altering the clothes to disguise this makes perfect sense now. In which case of course they didn't photoshop her face in, that's ridiculous.

It's pretty much accepted that the photo is from No 2023. DM comments suggest William was in the original pic and they subbed Kate it - but that seems beyond any evidence at this point

It makes emotional sense. It fits Kate’s very uncharacteristic behavior. The photo today in the car for instance—she is clearly in distress.

I just don't see how a divorce is possible. The RF clearly needs Kate, especially if William might be king sooner than anticipated. She has no incentive to leave because she would never get full custody of her kids. Under what scenario would both sides come to the conclusion of divorce?

I think as some PPs have suggested, she is using this chance to leverage something in a possibly unhappy marriage. Then once that has been figured out, things will go back to normal and we will never know what really happened.

Oh you're confused. I completely believe Kate had nothing to do with that doctored up photo and is playing hardball with William and the family.
