But to add to my previous post - I agree with the other posters who have called you out for saying Melania "wears" a scowl. Like you assume it's deliberate and not just meant to be a neutral expression.

I mean, the woman is a public figure and former model. Are you telling me she doesn't know how to comport herself in public? I don't believe that for a second. She is either doing it on purpose, or truly just doesn't care. I think probably the latter.

Melania looks amazing. Botox and all. Have you seen recent pictures of Caroline Kennedy? She looks far older than 67, but clearly is all natural. So pick your poison: a bit of a frozen face but you look 10 yrs younger, or so nothing and potentially (depending on lifestyle/genetics) look 15 yrs older

Oh please. Botox made her look like a mean shrew? Give me a break. Did botox also force her to wear leggings and a little knit cap, too?

In the picture above in the lavender dress, she looks like she froze her face for the photo.

When she smiles, she creates the deep wrinkles up and down her face. It’s wild. Maybe that’s what fillers cause?

One example.

Bonus—Trump’s hair is hilarious.

I think she looks like a knockout in this photo. People are so critical about nothing.

If I recall correctly, that’s 1. an old picture and 2. Fauxlania the body double.

100% Fauxlania

Research was published in 2021 in which digital security and deep learning researches examined images of Melania in the context of widespread claims about her alleged body double. Not only did they confirm (as expected) there is no body double, but interestingly enough, people tended to think images where she wore more makeup, was smiling, not wearing sunglasses, and facing people (as opposed to dour expressions, face directed away from the camera, less makeup, and/or sunglasses) were more likely to be the "real" Melania. They turned that into a "femininity" score score (probability the person is female) which they incorporated into the facial recognition process.

They concluded the answer to the question whether there's a body double is a definite no.

Anyway, since the grim Melania looks more like Donald than the smiling Melania to me that's an argument that the grim woman is definitely the real Melania.

(As for whether spouses' faces change, Stanford research found that is not the case, but people do tend to marry partners with similar faces.)

I think the deep lines here enhance the smile, that's the most genuine smile I think I've ever seen on the woman.

Looks like a shot you get at the mall.

Is this what she means by her “work”?

Well, most of her face is covered.

No, she doesn’t know how to comport herself. I provided imagery as proof but the photos were deleted, which says something negative about the quality of her fake modeling.

It is! I had only seen it on here and had to click on it to look closer. Found this:

Melania Trump came under heavy criticism in a harsh fashion op-ed published by Vogue on Tuesday.Writer Hannah Jackson slammed the first lady’s attire and appearance in her official White House portrait, which was taken by Belgian photographer Régine Mahaux and revealed earlier this week.

“Trump looked more like she was guest starring on an episode of ‘The Apprentice’ than assuming the role of first lady of the United States,” she wrote, referring to the black Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo jacket, white button-up, and Ralph Lauren cummerbund Melania chose for the photograph.

Jackson remarked that the tuxedo, instead of a blazer or blouse, made Melania look more like “a freelance magician than a public servant.”

The writer then took a more personal swipe, suggesting Melania, 54, kept her theatrical persona for the portrait due to her life in a “gold-encrusted penthouse” and the way her fame is linked to a “reality-television empire.”

Hannah Jackson sounds confused. Melania Trump is not a public servant.

And now Bettina is a new Trump woman.

I went to IG to look at Bettina Anderson. Her LONG TOES in that photo shoot. YUCK. And “anus chin” LOL LOL LOL

Just checked Bettina's IG and... Wow! Why the long toes? Is that Photoshop or something? Her toes are reaching down like fingers! I can't unsee.

It really wasm't appropriate. It was the most IDGAF outfit she could put on, without having those words actually written on the back of her jacket. I'm not outraged by it - more just rolling my eyes. Here we go again.

I think the sunglasses and scowl are what really make it look weird. She looks like the hot older mom at school dropoff before going to exercise class.

I think it bizarre that you have an emotional reaction at all to what someone else is wearing. Also, her outfit was fine. She is certainly attractive and generally dresses to suit her figure. Hate on her husband’s politics (like everyone else) but don’t use that as a reason to hate on her outfits. Her outfit was every bit as appropriate as the matronly dress and white sport sandals that Jill wore for a similar occasion (and M looked better in hers).

+100
There is a poster, perhaps the PP, who is so over-the-top in her reactions to anything Melania Trump wears. She did that on the Usha Vance thread too - just so incredibly offended by what she deemed "inappropriate" clothing. It is, indeed, bizarre - especially considering Melania almost always looks wonderful (inauguration day hat excepted!).

I'm sorry but if you think that leggings, a short puffer, a beanie, sunglasses, and a scowl is a "wonderful" look for visiting hurricane victims, you aren't operating with a full tank.

Do some of you think it’s really appropriate to wear a dress to visit disaster zones? It really telegraphs “I won’t even think about lifting a finger” IMO…

Other than comforting people, what is a First Lady’s role in a disaster zone? Nobody brings in FLOTUS to do any actual work, and even if they did, Jill Biden is in her 70s, so it’s not going to be hard physical labor.

Sneakers and a shirt dress definitely look like summer “ready to pitch in” clothes for an elderly lady. She could hand out water, dish out food, etc. if she were in high heels and a pencil skirt, I’d say differently. But this is the kind of outfit that my grandmother could have cleaned a whole house, baked two pies, and wrote a letter in. It’s very practical.
I’ll reiterate I thought Melania was fine assuming she took off the beanie and glasses when they were actually meeting people — otherwise it’s a very “don’t talk to me” look.

Jill had on godawful white platform sandals - not sneakers.

You know, they both had a fashion misstep for different reasons- Jill’s outfit was frumpy, Melania looked like she doesn’t give a hoot (if only because of the beanie and sunglasses). One is not much worse than the other I think. -OP

This, Jill's was unattractive and Melanie's was not helpful or approachable-looking.
