I’m going to wait for instructions from management. I don’t work for DOGE. This strikes me as bullshit intimidation tactics or ways to train an AI model.

I don’t really understand this attitude. I mean, sure, I’ll follow leadership, but I know that leadership will just tell us to do whatever “they want.” Leadership doesn’t have a choice.

DOJ, State, DoD have all told their workforce not to respond. Probably not a good idea to respond before your leadership says which way they want to go. Unless you want to fight charges of insubordination/failure to follow directions.

I’m following the direction of my chain of command, which I will speak to on Monday, during my normal tour of duty. Eff these tactics.

This is so laughable. If you are off on Monday, they are required to pay you overtime to respond. DOGE clearly not saving money on this.

I guess it depends on if you are "required" to respond. But yes I agree, so laughable.

According to OPM guidance filed with a district court, ALL response are VOLUNTARY

You’re likely correct, but if DOGE deems your non-response as a resignation, they may order HR to process you out of federal service. You’ll have to fight to get your job back. You’ll likely win, but the process to get your job back will be stressful. Reminds me of that old saying, “you can beat the rap, but you can’t beat the ride.”

It cannot be deemed a "resignation" because the email does not even mention that. That was Elon's tweet.

How do you reconcile your comment with the DoD, FBI, and NSA telling all employees NOT to respond.

Collins wants us to respond.

I plan on complying but won’t give them any specific variables, metrics or details. I don’t want them knowing how many cases or issues I processed or how big the respective files were.

Off topic: I think it is time to turn the tables. DOGE needs to focus on all the taxpayer money that is wasted by CONGRESS and their staff. I say, start commenting about that online, at town halls, in public.

My husband works for another agency and was told by his agency to respond, before the department gave a directive that they should not. In that interim, some did respond and they used some suggested non-descriptive language essentially mirroring their job descriptions, so it was not to include any secure or protected information given the nature of their work. Perhaps we could do the same.
