| I am one of those parents sitting on pins and needles as I wait for The Letter -- is DC eligible or ineligible? I've read the 49 page thread, but it's full of opinions and snarky comments, and what I (and other parents like me) really want is a thread where willing parents of eligible/ineligible GT children simply state the scores their children received and whether they got in with those scores (I know, I know, it's more than scores, but we want to know and compare!!!) For example: CogAt verbal 114, quantitative, 120, nonverbal 130, NNAT 138, GBRS 12 -- ineligible; WISC 136, eligible on appeal. If you are willing to share scores, please post here! Thank you!!! |
is this two people you're referring to here, or one person found eligible due to the WISC after being denied initially? |
| I thought that decisions weren't out until around spring break. |
Exactly. If the OP is on "pins and needles,", it's going to be a long month. Letters usually go out the last few days of April. |

thank Gawd for those WISC's eh?
Cogat composite 128 - accepted. Dunno about the GBRS; there was no need to inquire further. |
|
CogAT: 121 Composite; NNAT 124; GBRS 14
Accepted. |
| From years ago: Cogat 125, NNAT 129. Not accepted. Don't know GBRS. DS has ADHD, but wasn't diagnosed yet. Would guess he scored low (inattentive). Could not have managed the work load in GT, so it was probably for the best. |
shit, who didn't get in maybe that's the better question |
ITA. We used the WISC-IV (among other testing) for the ADHD evaluation for DC. Now doing much better with attention and distraction issues thanks to the diagnosis and treatment. |
