The blue dress might also look less Nordstrom Rack if the pattern was different. That small all-over pattern just seems like something that’s easy to do in a cheap line. The higher end fashion usually have patterns that are more challenging to fit together in a tailored way, no?
But I still think its totally fine for a flotus flying to florida. I could imagine Laura Bush in it. Its not a fashionista dress, but it’s fine.

That dress is not flattering, it makes her look like a hausfrau.

It’s more flattering than the fried egg apron her stepdaughter is wearing.

Marginally. It needs to be shorter. The length and volume is making her look stocky and she is almost 6 ft tall!

Yeah it looks like one of those stretchy dresses you find on the sale rack at Nordstrom's Rack - as much as I loathe her, she is a pretty person and even with her middle aged spread she has a remarkably good figure. It's hard to make herself look THAT dumpy.

The fabric releases exactly at the crotch creating a thundering culotte look. If the volume started a little higher it would look more natural, if it held on a little lower, the fabric would be less likely to swing between her legs. If fits, but does not flatter.

It DOES look like something off the sale rack at Nordstrom Rack! Or better yet, Dress Barn.

I don’t mind it because it just makes her look like a regular middle aged lady. She could do better but she has done a lot worse.

This dress is fine for a flight. Folks are too picky.

My thought is that Melania wears coats so often its weird. I assume she runs cold. So how can she stand sleeveless in the air? I assume air force 1 is an icebox to cater to her obese husband.

The darts are in a weird place, it's DEF not what you wear to represent the White House, and the dress makes me want a fried egg, But you know what? No underwear showing. I'll take it as a win.

I am giving her points for mask wearing. I think the dress is not appropriate for the WH but it would be ok for another event.

I really don’t think it’s so bad. It shows her figure, her waist, and has a flowy skirt. Her chest doesn’t look like a cartoon drawing. How would you make this look better (honest question)? Have the skirt start to drape an inch higher?

Others have suggested if the skirt were gored. Or something like princess seams. Agree that having it straight and in a knit or whatever it is may not be the best. A little more shape at the waist would make her look more hourglassy. But it's fine, as others have said, and probably comfortable to travel in. (I hope she gets to take the heels off on the plane!)

"Thundering culotte look" as someone said. From the front it the dress just seems to be heavy, I mean visually, and does make her look heavy. Funny how she doesn't show any sign of middle aged spread when she's wearing jeans/slim cut pants. As to the heels, I believe she must be like the woman a friend used to tell me about, who had worn high heels so long she had to wear high heeled bedroom slippers because her achilles was permanently shortened. Yes, I know she wears flats once in awhile.
