RAND is laying off seasoned researchers while its CEO interviews for an indie film about the AI apocalypse.

Unbelievable |
What is? |
Jason Matheny, Jim Mitre, and the entire GER cabal need to be fired yesterday. If the Board won’t do a total leadership purge and clean house from top to bottom, they should just drop the charade and publicly admit the whole place is burning to the ground in a slow-motion apocalypse. There is nothing to be optimistic about this apocalypse. It’s over. |
| Agreed and the same to MITRE. Adrift at sea and the nepotism won't save them. Very sad |
The massive internal management issues and bloat aside, the government needs to decide how they want to use mitre. If gov doesn't want tough answers to hard problems then the corporation will continue to whither...how long can it last in this state? |
| Good point |
Nepotism and cronyism have a corrosive effect on any organization |
| Heard CNA CEO announced retirement. |
this is why IT departments go downhill after hiring H1Bs. it has a negative impact on morale. |
Maybe she realized that starring in pretentious indie films about the AI apocalypse is the real dream? |
Mitre moved deeply into the generic SETA space under Jason's "growth no matter what" policy. That has been their biggest single problem. Their offerings just aren't that different from Amentum or ManTech these days - with only a very few genuine technical SMEs as exceptions. Mitre needs to shrink, hire fewer new grads, and hire more genuine technical experts to get back to their original competency - expertise that is not available elsewhere. |
| And less Booz-Allen VP residue |
