Got charged $24 for a coctail last night!

And I was in the burbs! At a sushi restaurant! I wanted to try a Skinny Girl Margarita. I've had the stuff out of the bottle and loved it, and thought the real deal would be even better. There was a little language barrier with my server, so I basically gave him the recipe. He said a shot of Petron was $12, and said the thought the cocktail would be too expensive. I said, oh that's fine, I'm just getting one...I expected it to MAYBE be $15 and thought that was way too much, but chalked it up to it being a sushi restaurant.

When he brought it had 4 lime wedges on the rim, and he asked if I wanted it like that or squeezed in and shaken! I said, squeezed in and shaken please. He brought it back and I said, so what's the damage? $24! I couldn't help but say WHAT?! My friend just smirked and said, he warned you! She was right. I deserved it for being so annoying I guess. It was realllly strong. I had to order more lime to make it drinkable. We went to a bar next door for cocktail number 2, and I explained the situation to the bartender and he made me the same thing, for $10. Weird, right? I wonder what happened. The only think I can think is that they put in 2 shots of Petron instead of 2 oz?

what are you 19? Why are on this site...

No, I'm 30. I didn't go out for St. Patrick's Day (hence the sushi restaurant), just out to dinner with a friend and had 2 cocktails, a rare indulgence.

Was it good?

That happened to me but I was in London, so it was a currency issue. I had a glass of house wine that ended up being $26. Even though I didn't really want to finish the wine, I figured the last sips were like $9, so I just chugged it.

I wouldn't use Patron tequila for a margarita.

This stuff happens to me not infrequently - it is annoying. Now I am intrigued - what is a skinny girl margarita??

You can barely spell the name of the tequila, they should've charged you $30 for it.

Yes it was good, and please, please forgive me for not being able to spell a brand of tequila. Please.

I'm the tequila poster and it was supposed to be a joke. Depending on the kind of tequila you get with your drink it can get pricey, OP. They probably used the fanciest one just to charge you more for the drink.

DH is a tequila connoisseur and I almost killed him in public at a restaurant once for ordering a shot of tequila for $50 when I was pregnant! Couldn't the damn man wait until I had the baby to splurge like this in front of me? AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Did Bethenny Frankel invent the Skinny Girl Margarita?

YES! Why would you waste Patron on a margarita? It's not even the one of the best, but you're never going to taste it with all the other garbage in that frilly nonsense drink.

You'd be better off getting whatever rail tequila was if you're drinking ridiculous sweet-tasting cocktails.
