I think most people know those specific stats are not set in stone and that those twitter pages are propaganda for ECNL, but it is easy to calculate the numbers of youth players vs. D1 players and see that the chances of going D1 in any sport are slim. That's the gist of the post.

I agree with you that most people think the iamsoccer guy is propaganda and it's weird that he focuses so much on youth girls soccer.

What if someone told you that the person behind the account is a coach of a prominent ECNL club and what they're doing is biased to protect their job?

You would believe it right? I just don't understand why that account or the other one needs to post with anonymity, but I would absolutely believe the rumors about who it is.
If the numbers are correct then the numbers are correct. Don't be a hater.

If*
Any proof that they are incorrect?

What about proof that they are? Stats are only as good as the numbers that are inputted into the equation. Incomplete and inaccurate numbers lead to incomplete, inaccurate, and misleading conclusions. You can draw some general conclusions, but don't be so naive to think those numbers are accurate.
Sounds like the stats are correct. Obviously, stats are very valuable in trying to determine probabilities.

US club soccer not only p2p but requires a parent willing to travel 5-10 hours for a regular season match at the MLSN level. That is a very select cohort of kids, and leaves many talented kids behind. Different age cutoffs will further split the pool by having nutty parents chase RAE and you MLSN vs ECNL competitions go away altogether. Everyone in their little bubbles and meanwhile USSoccer on the decline.

Couldn't agree more. The Copa Talento and other pop up tournaments paired with affordable or group training are the way to go. Clubs need to have their bubbles bursted. The leagues that cover a thousand mile radius concept is ridiculous.

YMMV.

Sure there is financial aid for MLS2 And ECNL. There is even aid for rec players.

That’s not what we are talking about here. Only the academies are fully funded for ALL players regardless of financial status. To represent otherwise is blatantly misleading

MLSN2 is free for my kid. I take my ECNL dad friend to dinner and drinks once a week all year and I’m still 10k ahead of him on soccer expenses at the end of the year. He’s got a way cooler hat tho.

On the boys side MLS next has the same kind of propaganda patsys posting on Instagram with charts and comments that are clearly biased for MLS Next and GA. NextGen is an obvious one. The thing is they make it waaay too obvious as to who is paying the bills. At least try to maintain a semblance of being unbiased. The moment you attempt to blend MLS and MLS Next into a single league vs putting the MLS academies at the top of the heap you reveal the bias. And then an attempt to plot ECNL alongside MLSN2 as comparable leagues (vs ECRL and MLSN2) makes them lose all credibility. Suggesting that MLS Next is ‘free’ and ECNL cost money (when only the academies are funded) is yet another propaganda piece. so it goes both ways unfortunately and you just have to decipher the fake news and take with a grain of salt…

This person gets it!

You meant 1. RL team doesn't count

The Legends team City beat was ranked #6 Nationally at the time. Temps were in the 90s and City had to play LAFC an hour after beating Legends. They almost beat LAFC as well controlling the ball most of the game. Legends tried cheating their asses off with their ECRL team who City also beat. Half way through the game they literally brought on 4 new players that werent on the roster and likely were older and still lost.

Wow if true I'd be pissed if my kid played on the Legends ECRL team and the club brought on non rostered players to try and win.

That's just how Legends plays. They have smaller clubs around LA and they take the top players from smaller Legends teams to play on their ECNL or RL teams. The parents all kind of know each other but the teams change a lot. I doubt the parents were happy when 4 ringers were fielded but they're probably used to things like that happening.
