Someone asked who Shauna was. She’s Shauna Niequist and she’s part of the author/influencer/pastor friend group that all these people are in. They flaunt their privilege and it’s annoying. I do not like Christian living type books for this reason- TF, what gives you the right to tell others how to live? I don’t know. Just seems a way to make money… anyhow….. annoying. But also, her dad is Bill Hybels, a pastor who was knocked on his ass amid sex scandal at his church a few years back. She moved to NYC for a new life to run from that and do some healing. I think she got a lot of hate for defending him, etc. Anyhow, I cringe at that whole group. Others in this friend/author group are Annie Downs, Carlos Whitaker, Donald Miller, former Nashville mega church pastor Pete Wilson who left his wife for his assistant… they are all out there grossly flaunting their privilege in this untouchable little clique and sphere of influence.

Correction to above post. I just fact checked myself. Shauna did not defend her dad’s actions. Instead, she was silent about it and came out later with an apology for said silence in the aftermath. But… anyhow… she is still living off the money being the daughter of a founding pastor of a huge mega church which is still a bit cringe. Just my take on that. I just don’t think these massive salaries and rock and roll lifestyles belong to Christians and them acting like it’s no big deal to just do… whatever… all these super nice, expensive things, wear $90 shirts… it’s just.. lol. I don’t know? Wrong to me? Excessive? Creates a huge gap of the haves and have nots? So many of you have said that about Jenn, going to her church and feeling that gap. Well, I went to Pete Wilson’s church, Cross Point, and you definitely felt that. There were normal people like me, and then there were them, the millionaires, the special ones, the untouchables. Gag. Lol

I love this page. I truly do. Particularly when we are talking Jen's loathsome behavior. Because typically we are dissecting the choices she and her circle make. But when we start talking about things like someone being ugly, oily, having small teeth, subjective characteristics someone was actually born with, it always feels so cruel and cringe to me. Anyone else?

Jen’s latest post regarding the ex pastors wife on Humans of New York. Yikes, she seems unhinged. Like she’s really having a bad day. Sure, she’s also an ex pastors wife but Jen has her own church that sort of revolves around her. She later at the top of the system. A position of utter privilege.

Before Shauna “apologized” she victim blamed and called the accuser a liar. Never forget that.

When Jen posts like she did today about the toxic church and calls it bullshit and makes cheesy graphics where she quotes herself to herself just remember…She calls Shauna, someone who covered up, shamed, lied and blamed actual victims of sexual abuse, her friend.

Meanwhile, I looked up the pricing for Blackberry Farms because I have never heard about the place. It *does* look like a cool place to go. Turns out going to Europe *for months* would be cheaper lol.

The lowest cost is $1895 per person (or maybe per room?) for lodging a night, minimum three night stay. Most lodging costs more. Then there is a service charge, resort charge, and taxes that really up the nightly cost. On top of that you have to pay separate high prices for all the food, wine, and any events or activities you do.

For a week that could easily add up to almost $20,000 for one person!!
