APS: Think the "no move" campaign is going to work?

They received nicknames for acting so irrationally at a board meeting that security was needed (and then outing themselves online) or using the word "data" so often and with an air of authority that only he truly knew what "data" meant that the arrogance was too much for most to ignore.

No, it's not fair. We don't teach our children to call each other names and we shouldn't do it ourselves. No excuses.

Dont forget Daft Punk who took such offense to being called out on her lies, but instead of providing evidence just doubled down on drama.

I'll tell you what- let's make a deal. If you get the anti-moves people to stop 1) shouting down the Staff when they are trying to answer public questions; 2) cheering when public meeting speakers accuse the staff of malfeasance; 3) shouting out the staff is being racist; 4) comparing the school moves to genocide; 5) accusing anyone who speaks in favor of staff of being a racist, I will stop using nicknames like 'data dude' and 'mccrazy'.

+1

Calling people silly nicknames is abhorrent, but behavior that prompts the school system to post an armed police officer at meetings is okay?

So if you see someone acting inappropriately, you should rise to their level?

DP. It’s a philosophical discussion that there is no moral relativism: if two things are “wrong” they are equally as bad.. so speeding, which is against the law, is the same as homicide, which is also against the law.

I’ll have to agree with PP that the extreme behavior and verbal and public abuse of staff is not on par with being called names. The staff are not evil- they are doing a job, and people who subject them to abuse (not civil discourse, straight up verbal abuse) should be rightly criticized.

Now I’ve been called daft, a liar, old, and responsible for the mess APS is in. Nothing lends credibility to an argument like ad hominem attacks.

So let's hear your argument. Or maybe you just like to play victim?

That's right. All 104 pages of this thread are composed of the words "daft", "liar", and "old" over and over again. No substantive arguments to be found here. Just 100 pages of name-calling.

Good thing too, because if there were some comment of substance in here somewhere you'd have to like read it or understand it or something, and then wonder if it plays some role in why people are calling you daft.

I teach my kid not to call others names because it's kind not to. I also teach them not wallow in self-pity and nurse grievances when someone calls you a name because that's an important part of growing up.

Shockingly, I’m focused on those words because they were the ones directed specifically at me in response to my comment. I don’t know why you’re fighting with me. I’m not part of the anti-move crew so I’m not sure what substantive argument it is you want me to make so you can insult me some more. Do I care about the issue as much as you? No. Do the majority of Arlingtonians? No. My point was and remains that the insults and name-calling are distasteful and unnecessary.

Good lord. Grow up and move on or start your own thread on how persecuted you are.

Name calling works for our president. So why not?

After all of the drama THAT is your only (off-topic) point on this thread? Way to focus on the important issues.
