Kane from Kaneshow divorcing and crying on air right now (PART TWO)

Definitely threw up in my mouth a little more each time Kane retold the story of his "first time".

IJ is undeniably the most witty and therefore creative element in the show. I know it's fake and their each supposed to withhold their own personas; but it's got to get to a person mentally to continuously be shut down like a child every day. Curious as to whether he seems less enthusiastic these days.

Used to listen every morning but switched over to STM (didn't love it, but it was okay) and then when they went off air I switched between listening to XM music and EITM. Something compelled me to turn on The Kane Show this morning and wow... it sounds like a completely different show than just a few months ago (before the whole Kane divorce drama). Kane sounded drunk or something this morning. Even when he was doing War of the Roses he sounded drunk or like he was trying too hard to be funny/silly. Maybe I didn't notice it before when I was a listener, or maybe he's just grasping now. I didn't hear much from anyone else on the show this morning, but when any of them did speak nobody sounded too enthused. Sorry if I'm repeating sentiments that have already been stated, haven't gone back to read through the 100 pages of commentary here, just couldn't believe how awful the whole show sounded this morning. Definitely won't be tuning in again, yikes.

I noticed that too this morning. Once they started playing Roses, though, I turned it off and switched to Pandora when I got to the office. =\ Sad. I've been listening to Kane for about 10 years or so.

Maybe I've outgrown it, or maybe it has outgrown me. Not sure which, but either way, it does seem like they're trying too hard, and it's not a good fit anymore.

The chemistry is shot and has been for years, and he didn't start in DC till 2006, so unless you were listening elsewhere, it hasn't been 10 years. From Wiki:

Kane (whose real name is Peter) resigned from his programming position at WFLZ/Tampa on October 31, 2006 to start "The Kane Show" during the morning drive programming block on WIHT. He replaced the existing show The Hot Morning Mess with Mark Kaye, Kris Gamble and producer Ron Ross, which exited the station on November 1, 2006. The Kane Show officially hit the Washington, D.C.-area airwaves on November 13, 2006.

I was bored at work today and happened to check out the podcast.I almost fell out of my chair when they were going around the table talking about their Thanksgiving when Danni said she forgot what she did because she was running after her kids .Then i guess she quickly added how she did a video chat with her mom.

It was an estimate. I knew I started listening after I graduated from high school, which I did in May of 2005. Sorry that I wasn't 10000% accurate on my approximate estimate from a decade ago.

I spent the holiday weekend with my various cousin's kids (tweens & teens) and realized that they are the definite target demographic for 99.5. They all love Roses, John's pranks, etc. and think they're all real. Even the older teens who are 16 & 17 think Roses is real because "Abby's brother's girlfriend's sister totally got busted as cheating on there! No, I'm serious! It's true." *eye roll*

I did finally convinced the oldest that Roses was fake by pointing out that all of the people calling in have perfect "radio voices." She did some Googling and found the same Roses done at other radio stations throughout the US. I felt slightly bad because it was like I was telling her Santa wasn't real. She was 100% shocked and couldn't wait to tell her friends this week.

it was definitely a bummer when I came to the realization, but I mean, reality tv is all set up and scripted too

Not all of it.....Survivor is not scripted at all for example. I don't think Amazing Race is either, but it is questionable whether production has interfered with some parts of it.

Someone mentioned TV shows, that is the case I made.

Loser Line, WOTR, and whatever "bits" Kane uses are scripted and fake, that is common knowledge.

So I realized today that John has made a lot of comments about a cat being in a washing machine? And every time he has, Kane shuts him up. Ya know how Kane's car died months ago? Right around the time he announced his divorce.

Why would he make comments about a cat in a washing machine? Maybe I missed something.

Natasha accidently killed their family cat a few years ago by turninging on the washing machine before checking to see if the cat was inside.

Did anyone catch Kane's porn email scandal on chanoel 4 today?
