You lost all credibility pointing folks to anything 2028.

Some random anonymous “MD Parent” states that college coaches think Capital girls are undersized and soft.

While actual college coaches at Duke, UNC, Johns Hopkins, Navy, Notre Dame, Stanford and a bunch of Ivy League schools will be welcoming Capital players to their rosters this fall.

Wasn’t looking for credibility, just thought the 28 thread was interesting and discussed things I hadn’t heard before that’s all.

Why in the 28 thread not credible? Genuinely curious so if you can refrain from belittling me, it would be appreciated.

The 2028 class for whatever reason has a track record of being completely nuts. Several shutdown threads and just look at the similar 2028 Thread to this one, its over 427 pages of nonsense.

Sorry to have been rude, but its a learned response to anything 2028.

If your daughter is good enough to make the A team and you are willing to drive to Heros, M&D, Skywalkers or MD United, then all this convo is pointless. Outside of that it's Capital all day every day. Capital Orange has a commit list history on par with that of MD United's A team.

Capital's ranking can take a hit due to the equal playing time practice, if the team is not insanely stacked like the 2025 and 2026 teams the teams will take a hit. You're kid will get looks though and playing time, other teams will be higher ranked, but you could be driving to Delaware to watch your kid hand out gatorade on the bench.

Capital orange 27s and 28s do not have the same caliber of player. It is all a trickle down effect. You can’t use past recruiting success with a different level of player. Players can’t rely on a club’s name alone to get them recruited.

1st year HS summer (summer after freshman year) rankings
2025 Blue ranked 10th
2026 blue ranked 11th
2027 Blue ranked 15th
2028 Blue Ranked 21st

2nd year HS summer (summer after sophomore year) rankings
2025 Blue 4th
2026 Blue 7th
2027 Blue 21st

Teams ranked 4th and 7th in their recruiting summer are going to get much different looks than a team ranked 21st. And subsequently the girls will get different offers. Hence the argument for the downward trend of capital, but you can keep arguing based on the past.

I think the 2029 Blue team will end being more like the 25/26 classes than the 27/28 classes. With similar caliber of players and the same recruiting machine they will have much success!

THE DECISIONS HAVE BEEN MADE!!!!!

We will see. I confirmed that a few of the MDDC girls are going to Cap Blue, but they better get absolutely all of the top tier MDDC girls bc the BLC Blue team is not great. Even if they do pull all the top talent from MDDC, that still won’t be a top 10 team. The other big programs are loading up too, HG, M&D, Coppermine, NXT, and the LI and upstate teams will still make up the top 10.

Is that why tryouts are only one day?

Will the roster be like AS/AA ( no particular region) where injured girls make the team?

Question to all: is this poster for real? Do you believe Cap knows who they want before tryouts and it’s just a money maker for them?

Wish someone had insight into MDDC; at least they appear objective.

You have insight right in front of you - MDDC is like M&D Orlando its not M&D. If you think your kid is too good for Capital drive up to Baltimore otherwise gamble on an unknown with MDDC because they appear "Objective" that sounds like a wise thing to do.

Reason MD clubs don’t have the same high academic track record as Capital is that Capital has more private school girls with families who can afford private college education such as the ivys, and those schools don’t give money. Simple socioeconomic situation. Maybe I am wrong but that’s what it appears to be by high schools and college choices

You're wrong - ever heard of Saint Pauls School for Girls, McDonough, Maryvale Prep, ArchBishop Spalding, Glenelg Country Day and the list could go on.

Yes I agree that the poster’s posit it incorrect, or ant the least, poorly worded. Yes, Maryland has many private schools, but I do wonder why the difference in number of high academic schools then? There appears to be a disparity between the clubs” college outcomes, and capital has more high academic. Not good or bad, just different. I find it hard to believe that it’s only because of cap’s recruiting.

That's fair - DC tends to attract high academic folks or at least it historically has, so that could have an effect. Legacy families and families that know how to achieve higher academic standards.

LOL!!!!! ask any SR lax parent. There is zero chance that KM will spend her summer weekends coaching in NJ, Maryland and Delaware with a bunch of players who could not make Capital. She is a mom of many young kids. Can't see her making the commitment to this. And justifiably so. Only SR parents with no brains would send their kids to MDDC on that promise. I know the trend on these pages is to trash Capital, but if people are seeing this as a great alternative, they are smoking the crack pipe.

This makes sense. There’s no way she has the bandwidth to coach that team. She has enough on her plate.

JUST CONFIRMED BY MDDC ON IG….

KM WILL be a coach for the 2029s. If they can get all the SR girls on the MDDC 29 team, SR will be unstoppable in the coming years. Combined with the recruiting director being from SR as well makes the SR/MDDC combo a no brainer! Better rehash those preset rosters Cap!

Wouldn't it be better to split the difference - having a separate club supporting you along side your high school coach?

The fourth listed coach in a hierarchical list. Sounds unserious.

Totally. Putting all the eggs in one basket is not a good plan.

I don’t think you get how this works. This is ideal. Likely more playing time on SR, which already has a deep bench, too. This is a win win for SR girls.

Sounds like Cap isn’t too happy about this. Who are the coaches for the 29s? Oh that’s right….no one knows. Personally I like that MDDC is being transparent (and also has a SM presence and a website that is of the last decade).
