Comment with your best guest winner gets a high five!

My guess is Sept 19 for ECNL and Aug 8 for GA.

What do you mean by “plans” for 26/27? ECNL is literally required to have school year registration in 26/27 - by US Club Soccer. The only announcement USCS / ECNL could make is exceptions for Q4s to play down in 25/26. My guess is nothing will happen with that.

seeing how they already have trapped player exceptions, those details are important

The details about 25/26 transitional rules are literally the only reason to keep this thread going.

But the question was when ECNL is going to make an announcement about its plan for 26/27. There's really nothing to announce - unless they decide to use GY at the older ages for showcases (not a terribly important issue).

Details about 25/26 transition and what GA is going to do is what's keeping this thread alive. And when we get some info on either, we will be at 1,500 in no time!

We could get to 2000 if there are any “play down” rules. But if not, this thread can die a slow death.

Goes to show that theres so many things that could happen. Some people think a single cutoff date will end it all. It wont, theres all kinds of weird variations that could be implemented.

And once GA relays their plans ECNL will do the same or maybe do somehting even crazier forcing GA to respond/implement.
GA not bothering to have trapped player exception is a good sign they are going with a straight date cutoff and avoiding the nonsense lobbying by parents trying to get the cheat code.

This is 100% BS you have no idea what GA is planning to do.

Also its in GAs favor to do somthing like 8/1 or 7/1.

Stop trying to pass nonsense as fact.

It is the same person making sh!t up
It's parroting by the same person trying to normalize random mass exceptions. His exceptions wouldn't even apply around the DC area because all of the states around here are 9/1 or later so the August and July born kids held back a year from school would not be allowed to play soccer down with the grade they are trying to lord over.
Why would the same person post about different ways to do the same thing?

Its obvious that a single cutoff date wont address all issues. All the variations address most of the issues and would give GA and advantage over ECNL. (If ECNL stayed a single 9/1 curoffsaye.)

Um, if clubs aren't going to tolerate MLSN outside of 9/1 because having differing cutoff dates in their registration software for some reason causes them mass confusion then they sure as heck aren't going to tolerate GA outside 9/1.

How you get to 2000:

Let's start speculating/debating whether the REASON we've not heard anything about a transition IS because all the clubs realized they actually DON'T LIKE SY and are now considering returning to BY.

GA does have trapped player rules? My daughter is Nov 2010 was able to goto a showcase with 2011 team during the high school season. They also allow players in 11th grade to attend the U17 summer showcase.

Apparently GA used to have a trapped player rule. But they scraped it this season likely because most teams ignored it. ECNL has the same rule and most teams ignore it the same way GA teams do.

Ah yes, it also brings the SY bullies out of the woodwork!
