Is Madison the next great team in the state with the likes of Yorktown and Langley? Is the old addage of "defense wins championships" apply here? Or is it the "the best defense is a great offense"? No matter the outcome, we have a good one folks. We as fans, friends and family should take time and appreciate the hardwork, dedication, blood, sweat and tears the players, parents, coaches, administrators and the lacrosse communities. It's been another great season!

My Take ...

- BF coaches will be very strategic with every possession as they know MAD can score in bunches. BF will try to keep this under 10 goals and make the most out of every possession and minimize the turnovers. BF is very capable of slowing down the game, test MAD's patience and frustrate both team and fans. You saw this at the end of the game, where they played keep away vs. Cosby, took only high percentage shots to put that game away. Defense is their key, anchored by the best goalie in the state (who I think is the POY, if they win this game). This defensive group will need to lock down, be aggressive, and cause a few turnovers. If they can generate more possessions, slow the pace, they'll be in the game. If they start the game the way they did against Cosby, sloppy and throwing the ball away, the game will get ugly fast, and MAD will blow them out.

MAD's offense is exciting, so how can you not be excited!?!? From circle to goal, they are the best in the state. Surprising how they built chemistry so fast with such a young team. Kudos to Coach Counts and the coaching staff for building a great program, especially after losing last year's POY and other great players playing D1 now. Keys for MAD is simple, possessions. If they can control the circle, BF has no chance. Senior Attacker (my pick as POY if they win), and that offense can play and run with anybody and score at any time. Pace is another key, pushing the ball in every possession will be their advantage as they have more depth and speed. They can quickly put this game away with early scores and turnovers as BF doesn't have the firepower to comeback if MAD takes an early lead.

Prediction: On paper MAD is the favorite, peaking at the right time, and seems to be getting better. Logic tells me MAD is the choice. BUT I love me some underdog, picking BF in this game to pull-off the upset in a close game and a nailbiter

Enjoy the game folks, be present and appreciate that we've again been treated with great season of girls lacrosse no matter the outcome!

Madison is too good at the circle! They will dominate and that will be the key to their victory of 5 plus.

She was asking who won at the circle last game when BF won by 2.

Madison is much better now than they were at the beginning of the season as evidenced by a 19-18 win over Robinson in their third game and a 17-6 win over Robinson yesterday. Madison is not the same team BF beat on March 21st.

Agree! It will be clear on Saturday that Madison is in a league of its own. The game against Robinson was nearly flawless.

BF beat madison in early season… BF has the talent to bring home their first title, Madison will have to play BF’s game on this one. No blowout whatsoever. But prediction is 6-4 BF taking that win. The draw on both teams is incredibly consistent and controlled. But BF’s defense is working together more than madison’s. BF has POY in their hands. Madison has what….

Madison has better PoY on squad. Facts. I’ll take a senior POY that is battle tested over a soph POY any day

Is Madison’s POY their leading scorer? How many goals per game does she average? If a team can neutralize her that will keep the game close

Madison's scoring comes from multiple players. If you can scheme to stop POY, then it will likely lead to more openings for the other highly skilled scorers.

How did Madison and BF match up in terms of physical size? I watched some of BF and Cosby and Madison Robo On NFHS. The BF and Cosby game appeared more zoomed in while Madison and Robo did not appear to be on zoom.

I have been trying to stay out of all of these shenanigans because this game is about the girls and the fact remains it is going to be an extremely physical, evenly matched game. I wish both teams luck and congratulations on making it to the finals.

As for the draw from their previous game, BF won 13 out of 18 draws

I’m not saying it will be that way again, nor am I trying to rub anything in. It was a question asked and I thought that since people were talking trash instead of actually giving an answer that I would just give the facts

That game was ages ago. Things change in the course of a season. If you want to judge this game on a game that was played months ago, have at it. Madison seems to have improved on all aspects. Battlefield is no better. Let's find out Saturday.

Yes, most teams that are in the state finals have greatly improved over the year, including BF. I don't know if this post was a non sequitor to the previous post, but who won the draw circle in the first BF-Mad game?

Who cares? That game was played so long ago. Let's see who wins the draws on Saturday.

Love this post too! Only 99% agree with it tho. The 1% I disagree with is BF winning. haha I don't think they have enough firepower to keep up with Madison.

All seriousness, congrats to both teams and I hope for an injury-free game played with class and sportsmanship. In context, this is only warm-up for many of the girls on club teams. They have a grueling summer ahead taking on the very best in the country. Esp. our '28s since it's their recruiting year. Best of luck to all!
