DH made scrambled eggs for the first time, and...

DD likes scrambled eggs for breakfast. I was not feeling well this morning so DH, who never cooks, let me sleep in and googled a scrambled eggs recipe and made it for her. Later I found that the frying pan was a mess and had to spend more than 5 minutes scraping off the egg residues. I asked him if he used oil. DH:"No, but it is a non-stick pan..." Anyway, it was very nice of him that he went out of his comfort zone to do this for me. Does your DH know how to cook eggs?

He did once I showed him. He always had the heat on high to cook them faster and wondered why they came out crunchy. We had a few cooking lessons after that.

Poor guy. Give him an 'A' for effort.

If my DH didn't cook I would starve to death and my child would eat nothing but fishsticks. I do however, clean up after his cooking. Of course, for some reason he needs to use every pot and every pan that we own.

Yes - we live in 2011 rather than 1957.

Um, yes. I can't think of anything easier to cook. Does your DH cook other things? Or is he just generally incompetent?

I never use oil when I make scrambled eggs in a non-stick pan and they never stick. Why do you need oil?

Wow! Your husband is so lucky to have a mate with such a stick up her ass. The OP asked a simple question. No need to be a BITCH.

Oil? I have never in my life heard of using oil? Huh, learn something new everyday. I just use a non-stick pan and guess what, it doesn't stick

I use margarine or pam. However, I don't use a non-stick pan. Mine had the non-stick material flaking off and we threw them away. I actually can cook better with my non non-stick pans (had to learn how to use them properly though with my gas stovetop). I have never used oil though. My kids are nuts for lox and eggs specifically. It's a staple at our house and both DH and I cook it equally well.

Same here.

DH has even made Thanksgiving dinner the two times we've spent the holiday alone together. Cornish game hens, dressing, salad...he actually makes omelets better than I do. He also does the dishes when I make dinner so that I don't have to clean up after putting DS to sleep.

I had to teach him how to clean a toilet though.

My DH does 90% of the cooking in our house.

I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan a never let my wife forget she is a woman.

Mine tries but always leaves a bad pan and overfills the eggs. I also use a regular stainless pan with butter or oil and DH did try to cook scrambled eggs without any fat the first few times. Took a looooong time to clean that up.

My mom uses nonstick pans and makes horrible scrambled eggs. Dry and overstirs so they're in little pieces.

DH does make good eggs over easy, but hes the only one who likes them.

Dang, there are that many incompetent men in the kitchen... First real food (besides cookies with mom) I learned to cook was eggs, pancakes, and bacon. Any chance these eggclueless men know their way aroung a grill either?

To the OP -- buy him a cooking class for his birthday.

A cooking husbanc and proud of it
