The best Loudoun kids play for Blackwolf, VLC or Madlax.

Lots of hidden talent in loudoun county. Wait till PVI moves out West - it could be a lacrosse powerhouse

Where do the HS MoCo kids usually play club?

I thought I had heard PVI wasn't moving to Loudoun after all - when are they moving?

Loudoun County School Board member Jennifer Bergel (Catoctin) called the announcement a “good news bulletin,” and another positive that will highlight Loudoun as the place for great education.

County Supervisor Matt Letourneau (Dulles), who represents the South Riding area, sounded just as eager to welcome the high school.

“The new school will give Loudoun students another quality educational option, and help relieve pressure on our County high schools,” he wrote in an email to Leesburg Today. “I look forward to working with the Diocese of Arlington on the necessary approvals to have the school open by 2020."

3d has made a concerted effort on the girls club side, and they seem to be a popular choice on that side where there is a lot less club competition. For girls 3d is a great choice.

On the boys side the youth teams are decent, but 3d had mixed success poaching high school kids in their first year. One thing that has attracted good players is flexibility. If you can only play fall or only play summer for some reason like your prep school has teams those seasons they are pretty low key and can accommodate that. They also take a lot of kids who play for other clubs who want to supplement their summer schedule with a few more tournaments. One early problem with 3d is they centered in Loudon County which is awful for people who don't live there. I think they recognized how negative people were on that this summer and will adapt by getting fields somewhere in Fairfax so that the commute to practices is less a hassle for kids in other areas. 3d recently posted tryout locations in Fairfax County and that is likely a reaction to the families from the Annapolis or other Maryland areas and Arlington County VA people who just hated driving to the Manassas area. Can't say 3d is the best game in town for getting recruited, but their coaches are all professionals (no dads! no local public high school coaches biased toward their kids, etc.) and the instruction is very good in my opinion. Maybe the recruiting things improve if they keep the youth teams together and they develop better results as the youth teams get into the high school years.

There 2020 team had 21 guys come to tryouts kind of sad.

3d does have local high school coaches, but maybe you meant they don't have any good high school coaches And at S3,500+ a year ... I'll pass. Not sure how a club comes into the area and is more expensive than the most established programs that have been here for years already

That's 21 boys who can play lacrosse and learn the game from some very good coaches. That's good news for kids who want to play on a team and have some fun. Aren't they 8th graders after all.

Get back to wife beating, it's a better look than your last absolutely pathetic and disgraceful post. As a parent I'd pray your kids can escape your mentality and have a good experience with sports.

If your son is looking to play club lacrosse and he is going to play for a team that had a total of 21 kids trying out, good luck to you. The fact that you think there's nothing wrong with that situation says everything about you and your knowledge of sports.

Good lord, are you really that much of a loser? If my kid wanted to play house league soccer or rec tennis or played for a lacrosse team that took kids in to try it, I'm happy. If you give a sh$t about lacrosse as part of life planning for your kids, good luck with that one.

Good Lord, are you really that much of an idiot? If your son is just looking to have fun playing lacrosse, why is he trying out for a club? Just play rec.

If he wants to play for a club (no matter how good he is and/or your expectations), playing for a team that only had 21 kids show up to tryouts is a disaster.

We may be moving to Western Loudoun County and we have a rising middle school DS who is expressing interest in lacrosse. Does anyone know anything about NOVA West? Do the coaches steer the kids to particular middle school or high school programs? We want to consider both public and private schools.

I won't be surprised if NOVA West folds soon - much of the talent has moved on to other local clubs. In Loudoun your best bet would be Cavalier Lacrosse. Evergreen is another local club, but they're just starting up their club program. EKLC also is based in Loudoun, but is more of a skills development club. Cavlax is fairly well established. If you're willing to drive further out, options open up to play for Madlax, VLC, Top Calibre, etc.

NOVA West doesn't steer kids to a particular middle/high school. The kids are spread out all over Loudoun. If your kid is just getting started in lacrosse, I'd suggest joining the local rec league first (Dulles South or Ashburn) to get a gauge of where your son fits in talent wise. Lots of kids in the rec league play for all the clubs I just mentioned, and it will give you a basic idea of the level of lacrosse your son would be comfortable playing. Good luck!

They will either rebuild that program overnight, or the rise of Bethesda/Breakout and the encroaching Madlax-Maryland will result in its permanent demise.

Next Level isn't a bad choice. They have a place in the market as a team that has good youth coaching. They aren't as competitive as Madlax but no program now is like them. They have a good facility and good coaches. The teams aren't what they used to be but let's all remember that more clubs means more opportunities for kids who otherwise would be shut out from playing youth club lacrosse. If it was a bad thing people wouldn't have some demand for it. Next Level is a decent choice for MOCO families who have kids that want to play.

Next Level seems to be on their way up. Dave Mitchell from the Heights is on Full Time Staff. If you know anything about him, he is a fantastic coach and is great with kids

NL is better option than Performance. Club Blue appears to be fading and not many parents in MOCO want anything to do with Mad Lax.

Bethesda will always have Dad Coaches (pros & cons depending who you are)
