Adding women to the draft?

I agree. Have men fight and die from their own damn wars. Women can volunteer to help if they want, but don't force them.

Men are dumb a lot of times.... and their wars are a perfect example.

Arguably that has more to do with the sheer number of impoverished mothers and poor health conditions in the third world than the inherent nature of either pursuit. Statistically, the birth rate being so much higher in the poorest countries would inevitably skew the numbers to show childbirth as much more dangerous than it really is.

Sure. The numbers aren’t accurate or a true reflection of the dangers of childbirth, but I am sure there is no disputing any (male dominated) occupational safety concerns. 🙄

I thought this thread was about the US draft? What are the US rates for maternal mortality/morbidity? For US loggers?

Women should be drafted, just like men. There are plenty of non-combat roles to go around.

No one is conscripted into logging.
But plenty of women get raped. Many of them by their fellow service members.

Just like college women being “date raped” at parties. Does this mean women should no longer attend college?

You do understand that the US does not have a draft. People presenting as males gave yo sign up for Selective Service at 18.

No kidding? The concept of the draft then. Better?

You are a very good backpedaler.

The Taliban is sending those Blackhawk helicopters to the DMV to help mamas who can’t let go.

Women get to choose where, when, and if they go to college. Try again.

Can men keep their penis in their pants?

Men get raped and harrassed in the military, by other men and no doubt by women. No doubt women also get raped and harrassed by women. Everyone and their mother acknowledges that military needs to continue to work on assault and harrassment (and suicide). That doesn't mean that both sexes shouldn't be drafted.

Yet you haven’t provided a compelling reason why it should change.

Goes back to equality. Either you want it, or you don't. You don't get to pick and choose the equality you want from the equality you don't.

Btw, there are plenty of non combat roles for women to occupy as draftees. Then again, you might consider women being ordered to kitchen, custodial, or office work as being misogynistic.

Goodness so persuasive!
Hear that ladies? You can enjoy the privilege of of risking your life for your country!!
You just won’t get to enjoy equal protection under the law to make your health decisions. Oh and we aren’t going to pay you equal to a man!
What a deal!

You would be paid the same in the military.

Not after they are discharged.

So stay in the military. Lots of people do.

Ummm, there plenty of women who voted for the Iraq war and other military action. Would you be saying the same if Hillary was President and engaged in military action?

Remember Hillary is not president.

Out if our recent military aggressions world wide, which were started by women?

Wow. so you don't consider your vote as a woman to have merit?

If they choose, but they don’t have to sign up. It’s that great!

Last time I checked, unlike this discussion to require women to register for the draft women are not required to go to parties.

Wouldn't the world be a much better place if men had impulse control enough to keep their penis in their pants.?

We don't have a draft at the moment, but we do have mandatory draft registration. I wasn't aware that women were exempted, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised, given that gender equality in the military is a pretty recent development (and very much a work in progress). I oppose draft registration but if we must have it, it should be mandatory for all U.S. citizens: men, women, and nonbinary.

Does gender matter when it comes to operating drones and kill droids with a joystick?

There are a ton of defense jobs that aren’t about sheer physical capabilities.

Either everyone should be included in the draft or no one
