Are you under the impression that the war on drugs ended in the 60s? Did you live through the 80s? |
Not a single white person asking for a cookie anyplace on this thread. But a lot of white people are saying they support Black equity, just not CRT pervading school education and culture because it is harmful to everyone. What is being discussed and what you say is being discussed are very different. |
|
Why won't anyone share where they're finding systemic racism these days. Why? |
|
+1 it is really unfortunate that anytime a white person expresses an opinion that isn’t what has become dogmatic verbiage, it is automatically considered white fragility or white denial or white refusal to acknowledge opinions.
Sometimes white people, like all people, have opinions, questions, doubts etc... Since when did we as an entire society react with such defensiveness and spite. Let people disagree and have opinions! And even if it is one of those above things, so be it. Have the conversation, ask questions, or walk away. The polarization of opinions, reactions, thoughts, everything is hugely problematic. - not a white person |
Sartre really had you guys pegged: “Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.” |
Because they can’t! I am a firm believer that there is indeed racism though. But this decision to place it on systemic racism is incorrect. In my opinion where it does exist it is carried by the individuals bias, both unconscious and conscious. Inherited from care givers and dated symbolism in media and literature etc... and even then not systemic, but certainly worthy of increased awareness, especially by those that behave in ways that are prejudice. This is all getting conflated and confused though. |

| Hear me out: this is exactly why you guys need a class! |

Well, it appears "systemic racism" is a MYTH that's making a few people very rich. Next time you hear that hoax, just ask them "Where exactly?" That'll shut them up, just like it did here. |

I mean, there's a wikipedia article on this you could read...

Uh, no thanks. Systemic racism does exist. There is lots of data to show that blacks have lower salaries, less educational opportunities, poorer health care, greater rates of incarceration, less homeownership... the list goes on. Even if those hardships are because of economics rather than race, the reality is the system falls harder on a particular race. And it should be recognized and fixed. But again, the indoctrination of children with CRT is not the solution. That’s the problem here, and that should be the focus. Denying systemic racism exists is both a denial of reality and it completely overshadows legitimate concerns with CRT in schools. You’re really not helping. |
|
Please name an actual place where you believe "systemic racism" exists. |
You have hijacked this conversation with your agenda about systemic racism when people were trying to express their thoughts on the merits of CRT. You’ve basically made a productive conversation on CRT impossible. So, no. No I’m not going to accommodate your questions. Anyway, CRT goes way overboard in teaching a harmful worldview to children rather than constructive ways to avoid prejudice and racism in their own lives. Cancel culture plays a real role in preventing honest discussion about it. |

People who apply for jobs get fewer callbacks when they include indices on their resumes that they are black.
There are greater fines and jail terms for drugs that are sold in black communities in larger quantities than for drugs sold in white communities. This contributes to black me. Being incarcerated in higher proportions per capita than white men. Once you have been in jail, especially for a felony, it is significantly more difficult to find a job. Redlining is still a practice that negatively affects blacks today — check out the Wikipedia article and I. Particular read the section on continues effects. You are a citizen of this country, presumably. It’s not really out job to educate you about what is going on right in front of you. Our time has value and it’s not our job to acquaint you with reality. |
