Will DC metro be a good fit for us ideologically?

So you want to live in the DC area, but don’t want to live in a neighborhood with BLM flags? You do realize that DC is about 50% Black? And that we care about our black friends, neighbors and relatives? Leesburg might be ok for you, OP. Plenty of confederate flags flying there.

Have you ever been to Leesburg?

Nuanced? No.

Lol I love that this was posted non-ironically. This is what you get in DC! ^

We moved across the country to a city that’s considered “very progressive” - and is, it overwhelmingly went to Biden, the entire city council is D - but it’s not half as insane as it was living in DC. The DC progressive wokeness is on another level. I feel like I live in like Fargo having come from DC.

There were Trump signs in blue Alexandria and there's a lot of Republicans. Honestly, DC sounds like the perfect place for OP. I've stayed in CA and Oregon and coming here is like middle of the road.

The country finally recognizing Black people as human and reaffirming that they matter is “woke” to you? Saying “stop shooting unarmed Black men” is as extreme as someone who support an ex-President who admitted to downplaying the virus, fired the pandemic response team, enabled white supremacists and racists to storm the Capitol on January 6, and signed policies or exacerbated existing ones that harmed marginalized groups over the last 4 years? Your priorities are not in check.

I think your best bet would be to search up the percentage of people in a certain zip are college educated and choose the one with the lowest percentage. I think that’s where you’d feel the most comfortable and find the most people who embrace Trump supporters as just a normal variation of political views. Maybe try somewhere on the Eastern Shore!

My neighborhood probably had 10-15 Biden signs for every Trump sign. Most people seem to be moderate, but it's not like political conversations are that frequent.

I think you'd be happy in many metro DC neighborhoods, but I also think you're putting too much thought into it.

This was a unique election tho

I agree. Very interested to see how the state goes in the governor election. I’m guessing much closer contest.

Too much thought is correct. No offense but I can tell you'd be annoying to both liberals and conservatives. Not because of politics but because you're a fuss budget that wants things your way at all times.
