And Emily Fox's coach left FCV years and years ago. |
Because they didn't have the high level platform for girls who wanted to advance their soccer to a collegiate level. So they left, to FCV and/or McLean, who, at the time, did (and were the only ones that did) have that platform. Which is why the older girls teams at FCV and Mclean, are very good - because other clubs, like Loudoun, fed them players at U13 and above. |
It was historically not a great program for U13 and higher because the top league at the time - ECNL at first and then DA three years ago - did not accept Loudoun as a club. The best players want to play in the best league against the best competition. It helps them develop into better players. See how now that creates an issue for FCV, which no longer plays in the top league and only gets to play good competition in a couple tournaments and a few scrimmages? What top young players want that? That’s why the writing is on the wall for FCV. |
| Thank you for politely explaining. You don’t see that much on these threads. |
That’d be great. His departure would cause the better players at FCV to leave for other clubs. A consolidation of the better players in the area would be a great thing. Yeah, yeah, some weaker players might lose playing time or get moved down to the second team, but you can’t play scared. |
Bobby P to VDA? |
DCUM says loudoun is founding member of ECNL?? |
Yep. Bring your players with you, son. We will be waiting. |
| Loudoun posters always point out that they only got ECNL 2 years ago and things are different for 06 and younger since Loudoun Red players won’t leave LS. And, for 07 and 08 that has been true. FCV, despite not receiving an infusion of Loudoun Red players, though, has an 07 group that was able to get to the final of the Jeff Cup top bracket, and an 08 group that was in the 2nd flight and went 1-1-1. Which goes to show that there is enough talent in Loudoun County to have 2 elite teams per age group. Loudoun lost half a dozen 05s 4 years ago and can’t possibly be expected to field a strong team by now??? BS excuses. The talent has always been there, the coaching and training has not. |
If you have witnessed ECNL training sessions in person you know this is accurate and not false. Parada and Hughes have been wanting out for some time but you the power of the $ is strong. |
| FCV still not getting ECNL. |
| 🤡 keeps mentioning MH and RP wanting to leave. They are boys coaches and this thread is all about girls teams. Also both of these coaches have been at LSC for 10+ years and don’t show any sign of being unhappy so all this “they want to leave” talk seems to ring hollow. |
| GA clubs in NE bleeding all their talent. Mid-Atlantic super weak. SE non-existent. This is the end of 2nd tier status. |
Agreed that the coaching at Loudoun is not great, which is why many left for FCV. Now there is an opposing force which is lack of DA / Loudoun has ECNL. If Loudoun would get their act together and hires coaches worth a darn at the older ages, FCV would be toast (i.e. they'd be ODFC or VAR or Sterling, etc.). But, not likely they ever will, so the debate and competition will endure. |
But...but...but FCV is the best team in the area and never loses. We’ll be fine without ECNL winning tournaments and showcases. |
