I like it. Noble thing to do. |
Gee, read the PP again! He did not said INSTEAD, he said just the worship is not enough, the acts of daily charity are necessary. |

Neither can be saved in their current state. One is not better than the other.

Christ Himself “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:36( this excludes Atheists good or bad) and further ““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” Mathew 7:21( this excludes bad Christians) In Christ SSPX poster |
This is what my book says: ""It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends" - Dumbledore 3:17 ""Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open"" - Dumbledore 4:21 Follow my book. It is the truth. |
| Seeing as those that believe in Christ are the only lot going to heaven I would think this answer is clear. |
They just THINK they are going to "heaven" so does it really matter? |
Well that’s what the Bible says. So probably a safe thing to believe. |
My book says: “You are the true master of death, because the true master does not seek to run away from Death. He accepts that be must die, and understands that there are far, far worse things in the living world than dying.” ? J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows So a much safer thing to believe, because my book is true. |
So SSPX you are saying that a person who.. “(...) but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” will be "saved".. so in theory.. if an atheist who coincidentally never heard about the ten commandments (aka Will of Father), but obey them non the less without knowing or realizing just by being good person .. then he is a bad person and he deserves nothing but eternal damnation? How exactly this sits with you: God is the Father who is all loving and all forgiving.. yet.. he would not forgive a good person? Key word forgiving.. for not knowing God? |
Yep-- it looks like the good atheist goes to hell, because he cannot fulfill the first 4 commandments, which are not common sense about being a good person, but are about paying due respect to the god that they never heard of: 1. You shall have no other gods. 2. You shall not make idols. 3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord. 4. Remember the Sabbath, keep it holy. |
What a lame attempt to bump the thread. From the Christian perspective, you must have missed the weekly discussions about Jesus’ relationship to most OT rules. As you and others have seen these explained so many times, I’m not going to bother doing it again here. |
Sorry -- don't understand this response - perhaps due to inadequate education on "Jesus’ relationship to most OT rules" or perhaps because pp is being vague. |
