And for the most part, it's been more civil and an actual discussion.

Thank goodness Goldstein and Priddy are both running clean races.

Couldn’t help but at all the replies to the lady who announced her departure from the group. She voiced what many people are too afraid to say out loud.

I say good riddance. I don't understand why she and the other departer kept arguing with Nature Eyeballs. And why would anyone be "afraid" to say anything out loud? Nature Eyeballs is always calm and respectful. You know what her posts are going to say; if you don't want to read them, don't read them.

This is all such petty gossip! Is this really that important or interesting to you? You’re all worse than our teenagers.

Let's just encourage honest debate. I don't agree with everything she says, but I like that's made this an issue people are talking about. I was glad to see the others go. They were snarky. She never is.

She did apologize for the peanut thing and apparently has a kid(s) with allergies, so that I think was just a blunder. I understand her a lot better now that she explained one of her kids has eye damage from screens and that is what launched her down this path of advocacy.

But people were talking about it before she showed up. I am really unhappy with how APS handles screens, but there are a lot of things that APS could be doing better, and not every topic needs to be wrenched to screens-n-nature.

I'm not going to reward someone who uses a staff member -- who doesn't live in Virginia, so can't vote in this election -- in her campaign materials as a supporter.

But having John Legend tweet out his support is cool with you? Hypocritical.

Ummmm, that they haven’t should tell you something about the administrators. Seems they agree with all the opinions expressed by those who jump to call everyone racist or trans-phobic and language being used. They are largely absent from moderating the group. Must be voting for Tafti.

It's disgusting how they are pushing one candidate.

I've reported 3 comments today where people where the commenter was cussing at the original poster. In each case the moderators have edited the post. If you are seeing posts that name-call or shame people report them.

Has Parisa incorporated that into her campaign materials? If not, I don't see how it's comparable.

YoU are right. It is way worse. Do you think John Legend just happened across her campaign? Or spends his time searching for candidates in local races halfway across the country to tweet about? The answer is he has a team of people managing his Twitter account. People come to him trying to get him to tweet about their candidate or product. All the PAC money she is getting is going towards this sort of thing. Or the Soros group themself went to him. Either way, she’s in on it. And is trying to come across as of this huge celebrity has taken the tome to listen to me and support me. It is much more deceiving than having an actual supporter support you but live somewhere else.

How do you report a post on AEM? I don't like the snark posts right now about a new member who joined, but I don't see how you are supposed to alert the moderator about them. Does the report feature go to Facebook or the moderator?

I can't figure out how to do it on a computer- but on my phone if I tap the comment, one of the options is "report to group admins". You could also PM the moderators- or reply and tag one of them.

Hmm, I don't have the app on my phone. maybe someone else can report it? it seems obnoxious to me to be harassing the woman. she's allowed to post an article even if she is a new member. it's not like she doesn't live in Arlington or is a spambot.

The way they are ganging up on anyone who posts something about Theo, a fellow Democratic (!!) candidate, is absolutely disgusting. They post anything they can find online for Parisa but how dare someone do the same.

I’ve never prosecuted a case. Never had to argue anything in court. But am a lawyer in government. And anytime some political appointee (I understand she would be elected) comes in with zero experience or expertise in what we do, they have no credibility with staff and this become largely ineffective. Can’t imagine it being any different in a prosecutors office. What respect would she have making strategic decisions in a prosecution of a violent criminal? I’m not talking about the decision of whether to prosecute. I’m talking about all of the big decisions that have to be made throughout the course of an investigation and prosecution. Being the CA isn’t just about deciding who to prosecute and for what — there is a tremendous amount of “how” that she has no experience doing.
